Associative thinking is a hot topic in psychology, and it is completely distinct from 'magical thinking'. Please do not redirect to 'magical thinking' — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.16.113.3 (talk)

Hello. Could you please provide any sources which separate 'associative thinking' from 'magical thinking?' Perhaps a definition for each of them? It looks like the magical thinking article has the section for associative thinking for the redirect. KJ click here 00:31, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is a good reference that discusses the present distinction between associative (inductive) reasoning and rule-based (analytical) reasoning. It includes summary chart and comparison of the associative process. The distinction from 'magical thikning' is self evident. http://www.mindstalk.net/indiana/Orals/TwoSystems.pdf — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.16.113.3 (talk) 20:20, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@209.16.113.3:Okay, the source looks pretty good. Is it possible to ask you to improve the article as a stand-alone article? KJ click here 22:38, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
