Reason not to delete

[edit]

'Assassing' is not a protologism in the sense that the article was created to promote the jargon word 'assassing' to a neologism - it is the title of a song.

The second count is notability I think. Marillion are a notable band, having had top ten singles and albums for more than two decades in various countries. Assassing is considered as one of their 'anthem' songs. It should be noted that I have only tonight created about three articles on other Marillion songs before my attention was drawn to the 'notability' guideline. For the minute, I will stop creating other such articles until I have looked through lists of other song articles to see if such articles are widely challenged. If I determine that there are a high number of them that are 'only as' or 'less' notable than released singles by Marillion, then I will continue creating entries. --Mal 00:56, 25 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • The problem with the article as written is that it did not assert the notability of the song and was in general, much too short. The info should have been included on the main album page. I merged the content back to the album page but kept the title as a redirect. If you want to come back and greatly expand it (significance, references, analysis of lyrics, etc) could can undo the redirect at that time. Thatcher131 04:12, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
