Alt Text

[edit]

What is meant by the alt text for the hippo display case? It doesn't seem to make sense. File:Allenton Hippo display at Derby Museum.JPG|240px|alt=Museum display case with a long iron seax and other artefacts Parkywiki (talk) 01:21, 5 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A "seax" is an ancient knife = which is where I stole the infomation box from before I (incompletely) changed it to be useful for this article. I must be less fallible! Victuallers (talk) 10:17, 6 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps not H. amphibamus

[edit]

It might have been either of the extinct species Hippopotamus antiquus, hippopotamus major or Hippopotamus gorgops, which lived in the British isles, unlike amphibamus. FunkMonk (talk) 11:07, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
