I expect that I made some errors when doing this so here is the raw data that I collected from the other pages inside wikipedia. I am also aware that my number of summer Paralympics count is probably wrong since I only counted times they got a medal so that will most likely have to be adjusted. -- Phoenix (talk) 09:05, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Germany

[edit]

Again 3 (??) Germany? Just like in all other English Wiki Articles, I Do not agree with that list. It is simply not correct: The Federal Republic of Germany (or like wikipedia calls it wrongly "West Germany") did not ceased to exist in 1990.
The GDR joined the Federal Republic. So why dont't you merge the Federal Republic pre-1990 and the Federal Republic post-1990? I just don't get it! If you would be consequent you would have to split up every other nation with changing borders (e.g. USA 50 States, USA 49 States etc.).
The GDR (english-wikipedia loves to call it wrongly "East Germany") joined in 1990 the Federal Republic of Germany, so the FR Germany is the legal and official successor, but not for wikipedia? I just don't get it! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.12.15.112 (talkcontribs) 11:28, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

While I personally agree with you, the problem is not with wikipedia but with the IOC. If you check the List of IOC country codes you will see that some countries country code were simply changed to reflect the name change of a country and others were not (notably Germany). If you can lobby the IOC to get its act together and change their policies for these countries it would make us all happier. Until then I'm afraid that its going to have to be the way it is :-( -- Phoenix (talk) 19:09, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I hate to bother but did you even read my points? The technical IOC country codes seems to be the highest criteria for you. Why don't you want to see the FACTS. The NAME "Federal Republic of Germany" DID NOT CHANGE in 1990: same constitution, same politics, same NOC, same everything just 5 new Federal states! So there was NO Name Change! Is a Border change a criteria for you? So why don't you or wiki divide the USA (50 states, 49 states etc)?! The IOC Code has changed fron FRG to GER (Denmark used beside DEN, DAN and DIN, why don't you divide Denmark into three parts?) BTW: The first time the IOC Code "FRG" appeared was in 1984!!! Up to 1976 the Code GER was used for the federal republic of germany! The IOC changed their stats later! I strongly diagree with your strictly technical approach! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.12.17.254 (talk) 07:36, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I did read what you said and I correctly guessed that my reply wouldn't matter. It has been taken up before Talk:All-time Olympic Games medal table/Archive 1#But if You Insist, Combine Medal Count Wins Too Talk:All-time Olympic Games medal table#Germany divided ??? Talk:All-time Olympic Games medal table#Nations that split and recombined etc. Talk:All-time Olympic Games medal table#Germany.
It was best put by Andrwsc when he replied to a similar comment
you cannot add together RUS and URS (for example), without offending the Latvians, Ukrainians, etc. whose countrymen won individual medals for URS. Also, you cannot combine FRG and GDR as those were two independent teams at the same Games, and therefore, had twice as many entries as other NOCs on many occasions. [..] we can't make up different "rules" on a NOC-by-NOC basis. I am convinced that the most NPOV method of combination is by NOC (and code). There is a table in the Germany at the Summer Olympics article, for example, that shows the four individual totals (GER, FRG, GDR, EUA) and a combined total, and I think that article (alone) is the best place to keep the combined totals. It can convey, in prose text, an explanation of the situation so much better than a row in this table, no matter how well it is footnoted, can ever do. — Andrwsc (talk · contribs) 01:42, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I hope that you understand now. -- Phoenix (talk) 02:19, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's been a long time, but... no offense meant, but what Andrwsc writes is not "best put", it's nonsense, and there is nothing to be "understood" there. I can absolutely understand why you'd want to keep the GDR medals a seperate entry, but splitting pre-1990 FRG and post-1990 GER is just ridiculous. It became redundant to list the gouvernment form (Federal Republic of, FR...G) because the "other" Germany (Democratic Republic) ceased to exist. Splitting the medal total between FRG and GER is misleading at best. Since it'd be 1) stupid to apply two different schemes here and on the All-time Olympic Games medal table, 2) there is a more current discussion there, and 3) the entries for GER, EUA and FRG have been joined there, I will A) do the same joiner here and B) strongly suggest that further discussions on that particular subject be held at Talk:All-time Olympic Games medal table. -- DevSolar (talk) 09:56, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've fixed the entry for Germany again. FRG and GER can not be separated. -- Matthead  Discuß   12:31, 9 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Matthead, let's not get into an edit war over this. I am pretty sure Phoenix (or anyone) can be convinced by factual arguments - on that other discussion page. -- DevSolar (talk) 13:45, 9 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rename

[edit]

Could somebody rename the headline in "All-time Sommer Paralympic Games medal table", because the old headline implies that the Winter Paralympics are inclueded. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.128.65.212 (talk) 22:31, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have yet to get around to it. So renaming would be rather silly. I thought that someone anyone would have done it by now... Am I the only one interested in this being finished? -- Phoenix (talk) 09:54, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just like last time I took all the information from the wikipedia Winter Paralympics pages from 1976 to 2006. Here are the raw results. -- Phoenix (talk)

This article no it's correctly actualized

[edit]

The article is not completely updated, just so long to see the results of the United States, I think not updated correctly after Beijing 2008.

Results U.S. - Gold 700 Silver 627 Bronze 641 Total 1968. ---Erick- Talk 15:27, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

My fault. See your talk page. -- DevSolar (talk) 12:34, 30 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you go to http://www.paralympic.org/Athletes/Results you can search up medal lists from all olympic games. Curiously, nations competing at the 2012 Summer Paralympics get aggregated summer olympic medals listed in their profile. (Eg Sweden. We can probably update quite a few countries based on that sort of info; I updated Sweden, maybe I should've waited until I could do more countries. USA's score is like mentioned 700-627-641 there (not counting London stats). I'm guessing the discrepency is because they started recognizing some medals again, but I'm not sure :D -- Lejman (talk) 14:31, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Burkina Faso

[edit]

In the all-time table it sais that Burkina Faso won four medals. If I look at the page Burkina Faso at the Paralympics it sais it never won a medal, so does the London 2012 site.[1] So, something is wrong. StefanSport (talk) 13:07, 10 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I added Burkina Faso to the NPCs without medals list and deleted it's entry on the medals table. The NPCs without medals table is now complete. There are still many incorrect values on the medals table. De Boni 2007 added correctly the 2012 games medals, but the table was already messed up before it. I'll look over it afterwards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.19.125.163 (talk) 05:08, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong totals

[edit]

In the first table, totals for Slovenia and Croatia (one total) are incorrect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.180.218.186 (talk) 19:00, 16 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Many of the medal totals are incorrect. The totals of the three columns do not add up properly, and the totals of the summer plus the winter medals also do not match. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.139.202.184 (talk) 19:17, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

IPC official all time medal tables

[edit]

They now put it here: link. I have noticed many differences but I try to fix from smaller nations first. Griff88 (talk) 07:48, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

separate winter and summer table, this table is too big and full of mistake
