Title[edit]

Does this have to be "1st Earl of Mar" rather than Alexander Stewart, Earl of Mar? Are there any other earls of Mar called Alexander Stewart? Calgacus (ΚΑΛΓΑΚΟΣ) 21:47, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It seems not, so I moved it. Two or more John Stewarts were Earl of Buchan though. Angus McLellan (Talk) 23:28, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sir Walter Ogilvie[edit]

Could someone please add the citation for this, please. Thanks --Bill Reid | Talk 12:23, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Sir Walter Ogilvy was killed by Duncan Stewart, son of the Wolf of Badenoch, in Angus. Ogilvy's son Alexander inherited his fathers title of Sheriff of Angus and didn't become Earl of Mar. --Bill Reid | Talk 16:38, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
