Suggestion
[edit]First of all, thanks to those that take the time to update the yearly Coppa Italia pages. I have a suggestion regarding the "bracket" designations 1, 2 and 3 representing the three levels involved: Serie A, B and C. Since we no longer have C1 and C2 levels, nor Lega Pro Prima Divisione and Lega Pro Seconda Divisione, there is a one to one correspondence between levels 1 2 and 3, AND Serie A B and C. Why not put the "A" "B" and "C" in the bracket? Just a suggestion. Keep up the good work.Juve2000 (talk) 00:04, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
- Juve2000, I disagree. All the pages about national cups and league cups from almost all over the world put the numbers, so I don't see any reason to do such a thing. Dr Salvus 01:01, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
First stage matches
[edit]@Dr Salvus:, which source did you use for defining the matches in the preliminary round and in the first round? You mentioned in the crono the table of the competition, where no teams are included, only the rank. So far, no official communication came from the organizers, and no official ranking of the teams participating to the tournament are present yet. Unless there are, it would be better to remove this information, since it sounds like an original research, not supported by any published source. --GC85 (talk) 19:47, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
- GC85, click here for the source Dr Salvus (talk) 20:03, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
- which I don't think is a reliable source: it clearly reports it as a potential table, a guess, not the table. For this information it would be proper to rely on official communications from the organizers, not on rumors nor on guess. --GC85 (talk) 20:29, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Dr Salvus: that article is just a "suggestion" based on the seedings, but there will be, as the previous years, a draw. Anyway, no official statements have been released by Lega Serie A. --Sandrino 14 (talk) 20:35, 19 July 2021 (UTC)

Partecipating teams and preliminary round
[edit]@Dr Salvus: You could have modified only the scheme of Partecipating teams instead of reverting my edit in which I've also corrected the fixtures of Preliminary round, based on official announcement by Lega Serie A [1] --Andyen94 (talk) 13:59, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- Andyen94, my bad... I apologize Dr Salvus 14:10, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Dr Salvus: I've seen you deleted the fixtures of next stages. By the way they were correct, according to the two official statements released by Lega Serie A on 8 June [2]--Andyen94 (talk) 14:42, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- Andyen94, true but unfortunatley original researchs aren't allowed Dr Salvus 14:45, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Dr Salvus: They're not original researchs if you have an official source. Give a look to REGOLAMENTO COPPA ITALIA 2021-2024 [3]. It says that teams are ranked based on positions assumed in the previous season, so the fixtures in the scoreboard [4] are correct --Andyen94 (talk) 14:59, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- Andyen94, ok I've undone my edit. I've just added the fixtures Dr Salvus 15:01, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- Andyen94, actually, there is no official communication from the organizers about the ranking table. What is known so far is that, e.g., team 16 will meet team 33, but you don't know who team 16 or 33 is. Consider that, as of now Chievo has been refused the participation to Serie B, but, according to this page Chievo is in Serie B 2021/22: so, why en.wikipedia has decided to keep Chievo in Serie B 2021/22 and in Coppa Italia 2021/22? This is an original research. --GC85 (talk) 15:31, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- GC85 A part from Chievo's case that will probably require an update of fixtures, in my opinion the Regolamento Coppa Italia 2021-2024 is way too clear. The point 3.1 explains the ranking and subsequently the composition of scoreboard. Only because organizers haven't communicated the ranking table it doesn't mean it will be different from the statement --Andyen94 (talk) 15:39, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is based on sources and so far there are no sources report the ranking table matching rank numbers to teams, only hypotheses and expectations. Waiting for official communications from the primary source is the minimum for providing a correct and reliable information. --GC85 (talk) 15:53, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- @GC85 and Andyen94: let's discuss at WT:FOOTY so we can get a concensus Dr Salvus 16:26, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- As I was writing, the fixture of the first round reported in this page before any official statement from the organizer was wrong... thus, incorrect and not verified information was reported for several days. It was an original research. --GC85 (talk) 12:19, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
- GC85, ok I was wrong, but now it doesn't matter because Lega Serie A officialized the first round (or round of 64) fixtures Dr Salvus 17:34, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
