2019 AFC Asian Cup Complete Squad Lists - http://www.the-afc.com/afc/documents/PdfFiles/afc-asian-cup-uae-2019-complete-squad-lists Mraslat (talk) 15:16, 27 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Here is a table of data I extracted from the PDF. S.A. Julio (talk) 20:07, 27 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I just wanted to point out that some numbers are incorrect (appearances, goals, as well as DoB and positions). I would only use that document for the shirt numbers of the players (as well as, of course, the teamsheet). Nehme1499 (talk) 02:19, 28 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Anbans 585 and Nehme1499: So for North Korea, I assume the birthdates of Ri Kum-chol and Ri Hyok-chol in the PDF are incorrect (and therefore there isn't a mixup with other players of the same name)? S.A. Julio (talk) 04:12, 28 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I think that we should only use the info mentioned in the official document as the info about the dob may not surely be correct at a different place (we haven't seen them actually taking birth at that particular date), about the positions, these are the positions which have been named for by the federation for the tournament, it doesn't mean that he will necessarily play in that position, about the appearances and goals, the teams play a plenty of Non FIFA friendlies, whose value simple websites have counted with discrepancies, but the official document is the official source. All in all we can't surely say that which of them is correct but atleast the document is published by the official source and the other sources like the national-football-teams.com transfermarkt.com sources are maintained by normal people. Even at many places at wiki, those sources are many times considered invalid.--Anbans 585 (talk) 06:41, 28 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I can tell you that, as for Lebanon, the document is about 90% correct; there are however some errors such as Nour Mansour's DoB (listed as born in '89 but actually born in '91), Maatouk's DoB (month and day are inverted), Rabih Ataya (the document says that he has scored 3 goals in 20 apps while in actuality he has scored 4 goals in the same apps), Robert Alexander Melki and George Felix Melki's positions being swapped ecc... @Anbans 585: The number of matches and goals is incorrect Please return them to the previous situation. Thank you - Mraslat (talk) 20:14, 28 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Nehme1499, S.A. Julio, and Mraslat: It seems that no body has a valid citation, everybody just cites NFT, do check that NFT itself writes that many of its stats are incomplete, as they were not able to collect stat for that particular match e.g. Qatar v Algeria on the other hand the stats mentioned in the document contains all the AFC matches and are submitted by the National FA's after a proper registration process which is mentioned in the document which the AFC published months before.--Anbans 585 (talk) 14:17, 30 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
