Title

[edit]

Someone please move this to the plural as 2 hotels were attacked.120.62.27.54 (talk) 13:23, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Location of attacks

[edit]

As a frequent visitor to Sousse in past years, I have altered this article to explain the location of the hotels attacked. They are not situated in the city of Sousse itself, but in the tourist development zone which has been built at Port El Kantaoui. As the existing article on Port El Kantaoui makes clear, the complex is situated about ten kilometres north of the centre of Sousse, and is not within the city of Sousse itself. As frequently is the case, the initial media reports are inaccurate in this regard! Rif Winfield (talk) 07:00, 27 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

As Port El Kantaoui is not located within the city limits of Sousse, the article should be moved to 2015 Port El Kantaoui attacks. Regards, Dionysos1988 (talk) 10:00, 27 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Port El Kantaoui is just the suburb of Sousse so we can define the article with Sousse, which is the main city.Wykx (talk) 10:19, 27 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone clarify if the deceased and wounded were actually from two separate hotels? The article implies the attack was only at the RIU Hotel Imperial Marhaba A64ford (talk) 11:37, 28 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes ... separate hotels. Although the hotels have their own separate private grounds leading to the beach, the beach itself is - well - a beach, i.e. not divided. 5.81.29.251 (talk) 16:12, 3 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sourced changes removed

[edit]

Some sources changes were unilaterally removed twice https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=2015_Sousse_attacks&diff=668902888&oldid=668902362. I have restored them.120.62.20.8 (talk) 13:33, 27 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Citation clutter

[edit]

In case any new editors aren't aware, the first sentence has about 8 citations behind it, which is an obvious example of WP:Citation clutter, something we try to avoid. I don't have the time to fix it now, but perhaps a newer editor will learn this from this message. Thanks. Biosthmors (talk) pls notify me (i.e. {{U}}) while signing a reply, thx 18:01, 27 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Why is this not on the In The News template on the main page? Surely the mass murder of 38 people and the corresponding attacks in France and Kuwait are newsworthy for this website. BrayLockBoy (talk) 22:00, 27 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, there are far too many citations, some of which are less reliable sources, e.g. Daily Mail and Mirror. Danrok (talk) 10:29, 28 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Two gunmen?

[edit]

This seems to be nothing more than speculation, as far as I can see there is only one confirmed gunman. Please bear in mind that Wikipedia is not a newspaper. We should not state speculation as if it were fact. It is best to simply wait until the situation is more clear, there is no need to write a running commentary of events as they happen. Danrok (talk) 10:33, 28 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you and good point. A64ford (talk) 11:39, 28 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sousse attack in 2013

[edit]

Have read in various sources about a previous attack at Sousse in October 2013. Could this be included in the Background section? 86.138.211.217 (talk) 23:23, 28 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

17 Unknown victims?

[edit]

How is that possible? Article makes a big show that British were specifically victims, but no effort made into the unknown 17 victims? Not even an idea of citizenship? What - random people with no ID or history were roaming around?

-G — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.14.13.119 (talk) 23:48, 29 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Given that most victims were wearing only swimming costumes, identification must be based on dental and medical records. This takes time. Do you have a better solution? WWGB (talk) 00:24, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The Russian foreign Ministry confirmed the death of Russian woman http://www.mid.ru/brp_4.nsf/newsline/54AE0882A55EF58B43257E73005AA5C5 Stasyan117 (talk) 14:56, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Certainly if more people could read foreign languages sources, we could find out more and make it more balanced. 109.153.22.140 (talk) 23:38, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

former professional footballer?

[edit]

"Among the fatalities was Denis Thwaites, a former professional footballer for Birmingham City, and his wife, Elaine.[34] 39 others were wounded.[17][35][36][37]" Why is this relevant? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.228.195.58 (talk) 00:45, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Because he is notable (and has a Wikipedia article). The others are not/do not. WWGB (talk) 01:02, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
