I noticed a discrepancy betweeen http://electionsnovascotia.ns.ca/results/ele_summary.pdf (which was used as the main source for this article) and http://electionsnovascotia.ns.ca/stats-1999-cast2.asp, which is also available on the Elections Nova Scotia website. The former shows 41 PC candidates elected and 3 Liberals (for a total of 44), whereas the latter shows 39 PC candidates elected and 4 Liberals (for a total of 43). I went through the first document to see if I could clear up the mystery, and it seems that it is the second document which is correct. In the first one, the riding of Kings West is shown twice (which is where the mysterious 44th MHA came from) ; also, in the majority column for the riding of Pictou East, the PC candidate (John McLean) is shown having won by a majority of 11 votes ; this is an error if the votes column is to be believed, which shows the Liberal candidate (Alexander L MacDonald) with 2660 votes and McLean with 2649... a majority of 11 votes. This would seem to suggest that there were indeed 43 seats in this election, and 39 PCs and 4 Liberals were elected. dh06:43, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
