A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Handshakeuser420, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

Contested deletion

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... I am a single person, I am unsure what I am promoting.. o.O I can change whatever needs to be changed in my account to solve this asap.. whatever the issue is. Is it my donation wallet in my profile? --Handshakeuser420 (talk) 17:51, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The donation wallet is precisely the issue. —C.Fred (talk) 18:24, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I see. Understood, won't add that again. My bad. Although why was my entire addition to Alternative DNS Root also removed?? Handshake isban alternative dns root, unlike namecoin, so I don't see why it shouldn't be there while Namecoin should. I've been reading into handshake for a few weeks now and it absolutely is an alternative dns root.. this baffles me —Handshakeuser420 (talk) 18:27, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It is an alternative DNS root, but it is not a notable alternative DNS root. I would suggest starting a draft article at Draft:Handshake (protocol) (not sure about the disambiguation, but "protocol" seems the best, or maybe "DNS root"), where you can show that Handshake has gotten significant coverage in reliable sources and is notable. —C.Fred (talk) 18:48, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Why is namecoin there when its not an alternative dns root? I don't understand how that got through you guys but my addition that actually is an alternative dns root needed to be backed by more "reliable sources" how did namecoin get added when it doesn't even belong on this page as it isn't an alternative dns root?

In fact, Namecoins citation on that page doesn't even work... I can link multiple different articles that talk about Handshake. The problem I have is I don't have a computer and use mobile for things like this, and mobile Wikipedia is really hard to use to add stuff like this (or at least I'm having a hard time finding it) can I link the various articles somewhere so I can easily just read the section I wrote?

Here's a few of the links, https://www.encirca.com/handshake-dns-vs-traditional-dns/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=handshake-dns-vs-traditional-dns And https://www.technologyreview.com/2019/06/04/239039/the-ambitious-plan-to-make-the-internets-phone-book-more-trustworthy/

I am sure I can grab more, though if needed to get this added to that page. Handshakeuser420 (talk) 18:50, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
