The Dragon Group is directly responsible for the establishment of the sweater industry in Bangladesh, which now contributes about US $4.5 billion per year from export.

The Dragon Group first established its sweater factory by the name Cheung Hing Sweater in the 1980s with 50 Chinese technicians, about 300 machines and about 600 employees. Today, the Group employs over few thousand employees with thousand machines and exports few million pieces of sweaters per year. The group is among the largest sweater industry in south and southeast Asia.

The Group's chairman is Mostafa Golam Quddus, who is a former president of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), and is widely known as the Father of Bangladesh's sweater industry.[citation needed] The day-to-day operations are overseen by Managing Director Mostafa Quamrus Sobhan.

Dragon Sweater exports to over 30 countries including USA, Canada, European Union, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Brazil and Japan .

Dragon Sweater and spinning IPO was approved in December 2015 and is listed on the Dhaka and Chittagong Stock exchanges as A category share since first quarter of 2016 .

Dragon sweater Bangladesh ltd actively participates in various corporate social responsibilities such as Eye Camp for families of Garments workers , education facilities for children's of garments workers in remote villages , and accommodations of poor orphans and old women of garments workers . All these initiatives are taken place in Mia Bazaar comilla.
