New page reviewer

User:Some Gadget Geek

I would like to request this user right in response to an invitation from Insertcleverphrasehere (talk · contribs) on my talk page to become a patroller. Thank you in advance for your kind consideration.

Regards, ««« SOME GADGET GEEK »»» (talk) 01:32, 24 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

information Administrator note User has had a significant number of creations deleted in 2016-2017 and has not been particularly active for the last six months. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 01:52, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Not done per note above. Thank you for your work with translation, but the quality of some of these works may need to be improved for a better assessment as a reviewer (in terms of understanding of current policies). Sorry, Alex Shih (talk) 04:46, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

User:Imzadi1979

I follow a handful of daily new article listings, and I figure that I can help out by patrolling those new articles at the same time as I'm tagging them for the appropriate wikiprojects. I've been here for over 12 years and logged over 100K edits, so I should meet the minimum thresholds.(I was also invited by Insertcleverphrasehere‎.) Imzadi 1979  05:54, 24 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

User:Tommy1933

Insertcleverphrasehere left a invite on my talk page about joining.

I have been a Wikipedia editor for almost four years and never blocked. I have been read through the overview page Tommy1933 (talk) 14:23, 25 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Done Thank you for your request. The article creations are not perfect (with bare URL references etc.), but I think you'll be fine with reviewing. Be cautious and happy editing, Alex Shih (talk) 17:28, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

User:Triptropic

Hello Insertcleverphrasehere left a message on my talk page about becoming a new page reviewer. I mostly write new or add to existing articles, tidy up wording, remove hyperbole etc. I'm a librarian by training and have professional knowledge and experience relating to evaluating information, copyright, open knowledge, and have access to reliable, quality primary and secondary information sources. I've read the guidance and training on being a new page reviewer and understand it. Thank you. Triptropic (talk) 14:30, 25 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Triptropic, would you mind looking at this article and telling me what you would do if you found it in the new pages feed like that? TonyBallioni (talk) 16:56, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi TonyBallioni I would make an initial assessment by reading the article, noting that it is short, without references and categories, and seems to have been created by a contributor who (altho' there is no information on their user page) appears to be in good standing in the communmity. I'd check that virtualschoolbc is "a real thing" by following the external link to its website, and by doing other searches on search engines looking for further evidence that it exists (such as New Westminster schools website). From this I would assume that the article, although short was valid, noteworthy and created in good faith. I would then tag the article as unreferenced and uncategorized, and mark it as a stub. I would then mark it as reviewed. Finally I would thank the author of the article and on their talk page suggest that they try to find some more information, add references, categories etc. Thanks Triptropic (talk) 19:24, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A while back (maybe six months ago), Kudpung suggested that I consider helping out here. As it seems the backlog is still quite high, I may be able to do a few. Let me know if there are any questions. I don't see a need to give any stats as they are all available with a click or two. MB 04:36, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

User:Jamez42

A couple of days ago Insertcleverphrasehere invited me to join as a page patroller. I'm a member of Wikimedia Venezuela, have been an editor for around three and a half years and I've also recently been more active in the English Wikipedia because of the Women in Red World Contest, where I've been mostly translating women biographies, specially from Venezuela. While Spanish is my mother tongue and I' more active in the es.wikipedia, I'd love to help reviewing articles, specially if they're about Latin America or Venezuela. User:Jack Frost

I'm active in counter vandalism, pending changes and AfD. I've been watching the new changes feed for a while, doing bits and pieces and I'd like to be able to help with the backlog. I understand the policies, and I've reviewed the required materials. Jack Frost (talk) 07:11, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Ideally, we are looking for active participation in the past 3 months. You have been extremely active this month, but it is not quite sufficient experience to be a good reviewer; I would recommend getting more involved with the policy aspect of Wikipedia and experiment with article creations. Insertcleverphrasehere (talk · contribs) recently invited me to become a new page reviewer. I would be glad to request for the right and would try to fulfill it to the best of my abilities. I have been editing Wikipedia since 2008 and have made more than 19,000 edits and am conversant with the norms of Wikipedia editing. I contribute primarily to medical articles. I am also a member of the Editorial Board of WikiJournal of Medicine. Diptanshu 💬 11:16, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

User:Rtkat3

I would like to request this user right in response to an invitation from Insertcleverphrasehere (talk · contribs) on my talk page to become a new page reviewer. I have done some editing since 2005 and have been fixing some errors to some pages that I visit. At some point, I express interest to become an administrator. --Rtkat3 (talk) 15:14, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Rtkat3: Thank you for your interest! I am concerned about this note on your talk page as a result of this discussion. It's only natural for extremely active editors like yourself to be especially prone to mistakes. Would you mind discussing that note on how you have addressed the (apparently long-standing) concerns? User:EoRdE6

Someone came along and invited me to this and while I haven't been the most active recently I'm getting back into it and NPP is something I quite enjoy doing... EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 18:07, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Done the blocks are old, and while you haven't been to recent as of late, looking through your contributions shows you have the policy knowledge. TonyBallioni (talk) 18:13, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

User:ToThAc

Insertcleverphrasehere (talk · contribs) left an invite on my talk page, so let me provide a brief rundown: I am indeed an extended confirmed user, and I often check pages under filter 650 (article creations initially without categories) to add WikiProjects, add improvement tags to pages, and otherwise spruce up any new articles. One of my most recent examples is my contributions to Message In a Bottle (album), where I had to add categories, move the page to a policy-based title, and add the page to Message in a bottle (disambiguation). I have already otherwise read the new page tutorial thoroughly, and have a proficient knowledge of how Wikipedia's deletion processes work. ToThAc (talk) 18:25, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

User:Gatemansgc

Insertcleverphrasehere (talk · contribs) left a message on my talk page saying that I might be a good match for this. Most of what I do on Wikipedia is RCP looking for vandalism and occasionally making small copyedits. I do feel that perhaps doing more than just fighting vandals would be good for me on Wikipedia. Note that I have the reviewer and rollbacker user rights and always err on the side of caution when using any right. Gatemansgc (talk) 22:31, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

User:1997kB

Hi, first of all thanks for the invitation. I am not very much involved in creating articles, although I have created some about places. But I have good understanding of WP:WIAA, WP:N, and other guidelines regarding creating an article, also I have read the w:New pages patrol guide. Thanks again! #1997kB 02:42, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Insertcleverphrasehere (talk · contribs) invited me to become a new page reviewer and I would be honored to help. I have been editing Wikipedia for 13 years and have made almost 8,000 edits. I have been particularly active in combating the reams of pseudoscience that unfortunately plague Wikipedia articles on alternative medicine. I am quite conversant in WP's policies and I hope you consider my request timely and appropriate. Famousdog (c) 09:25, 28 November 2017 (UTC) Famousdog (c) 09:25, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
