That's funny, but please note that Wikipedia is a collaborative project and you're expected to behave collegially. – Thjarkur (talk) 13:11, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock request

This user is asking that their block be reviewed:

Goldemold (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Hello, it's me, Goldemold. I've had a year and a half to reflect upon my actions, and now I think I'm ready to make a formal apology.

I'm really sorry for disrupting Wikipedia, and even more sorry for creating several other accounts to justify my disruption. That was many years ago, and now I'm aware that this type of tenacious editing compromises the integrity of the encyclopedia, because it wastes the staff's time and energy. I used to think what I did was funny, but it definitely isn't.

As such, I wish to turn over a new leaf and start afresh. This time, instead of returning to the exact same antics that got me into this mess in the first place, I will do everything I can to stop vandalism and other kinds of disruptive editing by patrolling the "Recent Changes" page and reverting it whenever I see it. If I get more experienced at Wikipedia, I might even start making more substantial positive contributions.

I hope you will forgive me for my past mistakes and give me a second chance. Thank you. Goldemold (talk) 19:09, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following code, substituting {{subst:Decline reason here}} with a specific rationale. Leaving the decline reason unchanged will result in display of a default reason, explaining why the request was declined.

Checkuser information: I see no evidence of recent block evasion. The reviewing admin should still check in with the blocking admin, Ivanvector, but my investigation shows Goldemold is likely being truthful with regard to refraining from any further sockpuppetry. --Yamla (talk) 19:18, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Pinging @Ivanvector as blocking admin, in case they missed the last one.
  • Goldemold, I'm inclined to accept this. Would you be okay with an indefinite single-account restriction, appealable to WP:AN in six months? If you concur that's fine, I'll give Ivan a day or so and otherwise go ahead and unblock you. Nosebagbear (talk) 15:37, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks, Nosebagbear, I didn't get Yamla's ping, but if they checked and didn't see anything of concern then I have no objections as the blocking admin. @Goldemold: per this website's terms of use, you are required to disclose if any person or entity is paying you for any edit to Wikipedia. Paid editing is allowed but only if you comply with the paid editing policy. If you have been paid for any edit to Wikipedia, or expect to be paid for any future edit, you must say now who you expect to be paid by. If not, please confirm now that you are not being paid to edit Wikipedia. Thank you. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 15:58, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Ivanvector: I agree to use this account only, and also refrain from paid editing entirely (I am currently not being paid for editing Wikipedia). Thank you. Goldemold (talk) 23:25, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
