"9/11 + The Neo-Con Agenda Symposium" a.k.a. "L.A. 9/11 Truth Conference", was a conference organized by Alex Jones to discuss the events surrounding the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. It was held June 24-25, 2006 in in Los Angeles - "the very center of America's primary media production area" - in order to "bring a great deal of publicity to the 9/11 Truth Movement and to show everyone in the country who has questions about 9/11 that they are not alone." [1]. Actor Charlie Sheen is attributed with the original idea for the conference [2]. Approximately 1,200 people attended the event from around the world [3].

Overview

The symposium included presentations, panel discussions, question and answer sessions, screenings of Alex Jones' films TerrorStorm and 9/11 Eyewitness, [4] and a preview of the film A Scanner Darkly with Tommy Pallotta. Presenters and attendees included:

Ray McGovern, retired CIA officer turned political activist, was expected to attend [5], but he canceled at the last minute for what he described as a "personal reason". Phil Berg was not present either.

Notable presentations were made by Webster Tarpley, who argued that the attacks were an example of "state-sponsored, false-flag terrorism" designed by rogue CIA elements "to start the war of civilisations" and that Washington was "gripped by war psychosis" and had used terror as a pretext to turn the United States into a police state [3][6], and by James Fetzer who listed a "top ten" on why the 19 hijacker account is "fake", available at YouTube [7].

Quotes

I'm an old interceptor pilot, i know the drill, i've done it. I know how long it takes, I know the rules... and... critics on the government story on 9/11 have said: "Well, they knew about this, and they did nothing". That's not true. If our government had done nothing that day, and let normal procedure be followed, those planes, wherever they were, would have been intercepted, the Twin Towers would still be standing and thousands of dead Americans would still be alive! Now, some in defence of the government say: Well, i guess there was a little bit of incompetence on that day. If this massive failure was incompetence, why was there nobody fired, nobody Court-martialed, nobody demoted, nobody punished?! The truth of the matter is that those primarily responsible in a position were they could have made a difference were either promoted or given the Medal of Freedom, for God's sake!

...

Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden were bitter enemies. If we really thought those ninetine hijackers were responsible, why didn't we attack Saudi Arabia?!

...

I'm the next congressman from Florida's 15th district. (Applause) And when I get there, I 'm taking the 9/11 Truth Movement mainstream! ... Its time for the 9/11 Truth Movement [to move] ... into the halls of Congress. [8]

I just came back from Malaysia were we had doctor Toom Muhadeer Muhammad (speling?) , the most powerfull man in malaysia, listening to our story, and opening the doors all over the nation, and it was a hitorical moment. A historical moment because it was the first time that a survivor of 9/11 goes directly to a Muslim country to talk about 9/11, and the effect it realy had on them. You know, we have criminalized, demonized, the Islamic world because of 9/11. So to have the actual last survivor going over there and telling them what really hapened was and eye-opener. [9]
