Editor {[User:Esquivalience|Esquivalience}] submitted the following nomination for Editor of the Week:

I nominate User Gene93k to be Editor of the Week for seven years of continuous deletion sorting at AfD. Deletion sorting is what powers WikiProject deletion alerts, therefore attracting more participation at AfD. Deletion sorting is underappreciated; however it attracts more attention and helps achieve consensus quicker. Gene93k has contributed exemplarily to this area: he has done ~145,000 deletion sorts. To put that in perspective, assuming 60 AfDs per day over seven years (totaling ~150,000 AfDs) and two sorting categories (the average), he has done nearly half of all deletion sorts! It takes true dedication to sort 75,000 AfDs over seven years (about 11,000 per year), and Gene93k has that dedication. This award was supported by User:MelanieN, User:John from Idegon, User:Yash!, User:RightCowLeftCoast, User:Jim Carter, and User:L235.

You can copy the following text to your user page to display a user box proclaiming your selection as Editor of the Week:

Hi Gene93k, User:Wikediss has blanked the AFD above while discussion is still going on. I have previously warned this user about removing templates like Speedy or AFD. Stanleytux (talk) 15:25, 13 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

MfD nomination of Talk:Kazipur River

Talk:Kazipur River, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Talk:Kazipur River and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Talk:Kazipur River during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Sminthopsis84 (talk) 15:13, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

SJIU page

You said me why I would erase a part of the page about the SJIU and its info... Those info are private under the authority of the director of the institute and who put it was only angry against the director. I have the job to erase that parts in error. I don't know if St. John University have (or eventually had) any legal problem with payments of the workers, but the St John International University haven't any problems, and also the few informations about it are privates. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Deusmorqos (talkcontribs) 13:45, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

 • The information you tried to remove is based on published sources cited in the article. It includes at least 2 citations to reputable media sources as well as the board of higher education. There is no good reason to remove it. • Gene93k (talk) 13:57, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Halloween cheer!

LG Williams

Dear Gene93k, I would like to point out that User Baronosuna is a sole purpose Vandal and Sockpuppet. In fact, the new and sole purpose user's name itself points directly to the ruse: "Baron Osuna" is the artist's friend and gallerist, Baron Osuna -- see Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/baron.osuna. Obviously, a gallerist would not delete information from a friend and associate; only someone with a vendetta would create such a blatant ruse.

Moreover, the fraudulent use of a living persons name in Wikipedia, unbeknownst to them and without their consent and authorization, should not go unpunished.

This page is under constant and repeated attempts at vandalism. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this vandal and how we can remove deletion from this page. --Xxxartxxx (talk) 16:34, 30 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

 • Sole purpose User/Vandal Baronosuna account is currently blocked [1]

Hi Gene93, you do alot of good work on the article for deletion lists by listing the articles by topic. It is very much appreciated. Keep up the good work! All the best, Taketa (talk) 04:37, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey! Gene93k welcome, i want to know why automatic changed the document named "29dwd" while i want to expend it? Please leave your message just now..for me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sandeep sharma chotia 29DWD (talkcontribs) 03:59, 19 November 2014‎ (UTC)[reply]

 • Your so-called expansion stripped all prose and sourcing from the article and replaced them more information about Sandeep Chotia than about the village. That is simply not constructive. Wikipedia is not a soapbox for you to promote yourself. Finally, please remember to sign your talk page comments with four tildes (~~~~) and please don't sign articles. • Gene93k (talk) 17:16, 19 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Chak 29 D. W. D.

Hi Gene93k. Not even sure how I bumped into this probably-should-be-deleted page, but it seems that you changed its name a while back from 29DWD to Chak 29 D. W. D. Per Talk, I think the original might have been more accurate, although even then it seems to be wrong. From what I can see, Chak just means "village" and wouldn't be used (imagine the "C" section in the Indian postal directory!) and the actual name is 29 Dwd (sometime 29 DWD, but usually I've seen that when the entire document is in all-caps). Any objections to me changing it? Bromley86 (talk) 08:40, 23 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for November 25

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Lindley Hall Farm, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page West Midlands. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

New created "Pinky" page, Speedy Deletion

Concerning the page I just created, I did not know that there was a previously created page under the same name. When I typed the name in before creating the article to see if it existed, nothing came up. Do you know where I can find the original article that was deleted so I can prove that this is not simply a repost? Thanks, Kinfoll1993 (talk) 01:35, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I made another edit here. But I relized that it is more appropriate for the user who deleted the article, so I deleted the edits. You can just ignore this.Kinfoll1993 (talk) 22:42, 29 December 2014 (UTC) Kinfoll1993 (talk) 22:18, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ultraman King page deletion

I am one of the original contributors to the Ultraman King page which was deleted for some absurd reasons :

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Ultraman_King

It is as if someone is trying to look busy at work and destroy years of accumulated information by one click.

Whoever approved the deletion has no idea about the Ultraman franchise and is not a tokusatsu fan.

I do not know if you are the one who erased it. If one wants to talk about cleanup (I read something about Ultraman page cleanup, etc. Who are these people who even bring up the topic?? Someone just graduated from university??) , the Wiki help page on anything needs to be cleaned up. I wasted an hour on searching for deletion appeal, etc, and found no links to where I can start typing for an appeal, instead I got pages and pages of the appeal process and prerequisites. under normal circumstances , I might waste even more time , but currently , at this time of the year, people don't have the time to read even the Ten Commandments.

If Wiki is to be an information site and wants to include the Ultraman franchise, one must include Ultraman King as a stand alone page. He is "THE ULTRAMAN" , he appears in many Ultraman TV series and movies. It is like having Star Wars articles without a page for Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader.

Also, the information on that page is authentic , it is used by many ultraman sites (ironically , the original Wiki info on this character is all over the internet) ; also, the Japanese version of the page is written by several Japanese fans and the information on both versions of the article are the same (when different groups of people presenting the same info.,it is an indication that the information is true and authentic).

So how do I start an appeal process? Where the page where I can start typing an appeal instead of reading pages after pages of information?

I care about this not because I was one of the original contributors of the article but it is important to have that information if Wiki wants to include Ultraman for any of its articles.

Happy New Year Gene93k!

Coasts (band)

The Coasts (band) article comfortably meets all 3 of the below requirements;

Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g., a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a notable compilation album, etc. (But if this is the only claim, it is probably more appropriate to have a mention in the main article and redirect to that article. Read WP:BLP1E and WP:BIO1E for further clarifications)

Has been placed in rotation nationally by a major radio or music television network.

Has been a featured subject of a substantial broadcast segment across a national radio or TV network. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rhinodigital (talkcontribs) 16:51, 6 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rolo Tomassi / Throats Split (2nd nomination)

Hi Gene93k, I did not argue for keeping the Rolo Tomassi / Throats Split article in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rolo Tomassi / Throats Split (2nd nomination), I withdrew because there was already an AfD decision to merge the article. Entry for Meghan Athavale

Hi,

Re: the page for Meghan Athavale; I have significantly changed the references so most of them are now recognized public news sources: CTV News; CBC News; Manitoba Music; The Winnipeg Sun; Global News; and Backbone. Hopefully these are more reliable sources and satisfy Wikipedia's criteria. I did have one issue when adding content: Meghan's participation at the G20 summit is documented here: http://www.examiner - dot - com/article/g20-young-entrepreneur-summit-30-canadians-will-be-there but the dite is on Wikipedia's blacklist for some reason. I will try to find another source for it; there didn't seem to be anything spammy about the source, however.

Hopefully that helps.

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Alliance Global Group is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alliance Global Group (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. About your (non)participation in the January 2012 SOPA vote

Hi. I am Piotr Konieczny (User:Piotrus), you may know me as an active content creator (see my userpage), but I am also a professional researcher of Wikipedia. Recently I published a paper (downloadable here) on reasons editors participated in Wikipedia's biggest vote to date (January 2012 WP:SOPA). I am now developing a supplementary paper, which analyzes why many editors did not take part in that vote. Which is where you come in :) You are a highly active Wikipedian, and you were active back during the January 2012 discussion/voting for the SOPA, yet you did not chose to participate in said vote. I'd appreciate it if you could tell me why was that so? For your convenience, I prepared a short survey at meta, which should not take more than a minute of your time. I would dearly appreciate you taking this minute; not only as a Wikipedia researcher but as a fellow content creator and concerned member of the community (I believe your answers may help us eventually improve our policies and thus, the project's governance). PS. If you chose to reply here (on your userpage), please WP:ECHO me. Thank you! --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 15:01, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Joshua Chit Tun

I do not understand how Wikipedia functions in regards to the editing process, however I do want to address the current page for deletion, Joshua Chit Tun. I did not create the article, I do agree there are too many links referenced to stubs etc., without second sources. However I assure you if one was diligent to do the research it is not hard to verify at all. In the end this is trivial and not my concern, I am confident in a few months there will be valid sources to meet your standards from a variety of news group. It is just prior to this I preferred to keep what I was working towards a private matter, nevertheless I am one to document all aspects of my life. Every page and every image for every year.

Wikipedia is not my thing. This was just to acknowledged your comment, as you are the expert on Wikipedia, however I will continue to do and your comments are well noted, my team will make sure that the news covers my experiences.

To conclude, I would appreciate it since you know how to navigate Wikipedia to work with the individual who created the article to improve it so in that regards it meets all standards.

Thank you.

Hello Wikipedia Library Users,

You are receiving this message because the Wikipedia Library has record of you receiving a one-year subscription to HighBeam. This is a brief update to remind you about that access:

If you have a unique story to share about your contributions, let us know and we can set up an opportunity for you to write a blog post about your work with one of our partner's resources.

Finally, we would greatly appreciate if you filled out this short survey. The survey helps us not only better serve you with facilitating this particular partnership, but also helps us discover what other partnerships and services the Wikipedia Library can offer.

Category:Refugees ennobled in the United Kingdom: Revision history

Hi Gene, I'm fairly green when it comes to Wiki editing, thanks for correcting my mistake. My apologies, I had read the article on how to delete a page but had not realised that it didn't apply to categories. Is there another process for nominating them for deletion? If so, I would appreciate it very much if you could point me in the right direction on how to do so. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.46.100.164 (talk) 14:29, 26 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

request for debate to be added to a list

First off, thank you for adding the afd Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/MADE 2015 World Tour to two list. I just want to know if it would be possible to get it added to the list of Korean articles up for deletion, since the group is a K-pop band? I think that would be the most likely way to get pther editors to debate it and would be accurate to include it on that list. Thank you! Peachywink (talk) 02:56, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Gene93k

I am trying to figure out why this would be marked for deletion. In all things new such as the speed for technology today we will see changes in traditional concepts and new ones evolving.

The internet-of-things will impact and change business models and one of the most important going forward will be protecting digital data assets. Traditional recordkeeping and library, archive methodologies for 'preservation' do not cater and will not be suitable for digital data asset management. Whilst the concept and term of digital perpetuation is only just evolving one could same the same for a lot of new terms. Why is it that you have such a problem with this word and its objective for differentiation and clarification.

Even if you delete this the term will not go away. It is already out there in publication on professional website libraries and will be available in the Queensland archives shortly. Therefore whilst it is not prominent now like all new evolutions so is there the introduction to new terms of reference it takes time and one would had thought that the wikipedia was a progressive environment and keen to be seen to staying in touch technology and the changing global environment.

Thank you for your time. Linda Shave — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.173.192.215 (talk) 07:37, 3 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

I wanted to thank you for cleaning up the list of Vivid Girls by removing links to articles which were previously deleted. While researching another adult performer, I noticed that her article was recommended for deletion several years ago after discussion but it was never deleted. Who follows through? Thanks again. 2601:1:3782:6A68:5410:C0E9:692E:B73A (talk) 09:19, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There was recently a deletion debate which you took part. The debate continues on the talk page of the article (see talk:Melee). Please join the debate so that a consensus can be reached on the initial issues of whether it is appropriate to include the maintenance coatrack at the top of the article Melee. --PBS-AWB (talk) 17:09, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Adminship?

Hello Gene93k: Have you ever considered running for adminship? I've noticed your long-term AfD contributions, NAC closures, etc., and you would be an exceptional candidate. North America1000 13:52, 18 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Of course, there's no deadline. Perhaps you're still contemplating the notion. Or perhaps not. Regardless, thanks for your work to keep AfD and other matters in order. North America1000 11:34, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

How exactly

Was File:HRH George and Charlotte.jpg replaceable? Eric Cable  |  Talk  22:20, 7 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

 • From WP:NONFREE: "Non-free content should not be used when a freely licensed file that serves the same purpose can reasonably be expected to be uploaded, as is the case for almost all portraits of living people." For living people, it is presumed that a free image will emerge eventually, as it did for Prince George of Cambridge. That will have to do for now. In short, fair use is not for images of living people. • Gene93k (talk) 22:30, 7 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Gene 93,

Every time people need to visit the website of Portomaso Marina they end up visiting the website of the Portomaso Business Tower. Then the officials of the Portomaso Business Tower end up directing customers to the official Portomaso Marina Website - http://www.portomasomarina.com//

I added the link so that International Yacht Owners who want to moor their boat at the Marina can directly visit the Portomaso Marina Website from the Portomaso Tower Wikipedia Page.

I feel that this would be adding value to the page as well as giving a better service to the visitors. I am also aware that Wikipedia Links are nofollow and therefore I am obviously not doing this for any SEO value whatsoever!

I sincerely cannot understand why you feel the link is not appropriate.

Deletion sorting tools

Hi! I noticed you do quite a bit of deletion sorting. I was wondering if you'd be interested in trying out this deletion sorting tool I wrote. I made it because I got interested in delsorting a while back, installed WP:FWDS, clicked "More ▼", and was horrified at the resulting chaos. If you have any suggestions, feel free to tell me! APerson (talk!) 17:47, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

 • Thanks. I'll give it a try when I get back to deletion sorting later today. • Gene93k (talk) 17:51, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry if I'm bugging you, but I noticed you were on (and using FWDS again) and I was wondering if you had any suggestions that would help bring the delsort tool closer to the usefulness of FWDS. APerson (talk!) 03:50, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for July 3

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Public holidays in Saint Lucia, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Corpus Christi (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

I have no idea how you keep up the enthusiasm to sort deletions, but you do. Fiddle Faddle 20:38, 8 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that you might be handling the AfD for the above nominated article. I've been trying to edit the article to meet the concerns of those participating in the discussion, but the consensus seems to headed toward the deletion of the article. Am I just spinning my wheels in trying to improve it? There is also some underlying problems between two editors who have been banned commenting. One is the creator of the article. Is it possible that some of the comments and 'votes' for deletion could be influenced by this situation? I don't want to waste anymore of my time to rescue an article that has no chance of being retained despite my best efforts. Would you be able to tell me if I'm wasting my time?

Hello Gene93k, I noticed your 400,000+ contrib count, 30,000+ contribs to the mainspace, and your activity on AfD, especially with sorting deletion discussions. MFD

Hi Gene93k, You recently closed this MFD as Speedy Delete - Subtropical Man's taken it upon himself to basically amend the entire thing [2] whereas I clearly disagree [3] so instead of us reverting back & fourth over it I wanted to know whether his edits were fine or not, I'm inclined to believe the Speedy was a result as of the discussion but obviously he disagrees, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 14:52, 29 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit is incorrect. The rest of the explanation is here. I correct/explained information but if there are doubts, your whole edit will be reverted and we will wait for officially closed of discussion by administrator, so. Subtropical-man talk

Draft for Editor of the Week

Editor of the Week
Your ongoing efforts to improve the encyclopedia have not gone unnoticed: You have been selected as Editor of the Week for your long-term efforts to help new editors. Thank you for the great contributions! (courtesy of the Wikipedia Editor Retention Project)
