Sir Robert de Burghersh, Lord Burghersh, was born between 1252-6, at Burghersh, in Sussex, England, and died in the year of 1306.

He married Maud de Badlesmere (b bet. 1260-70; d 1306), of Kent, England, the daughter of Guncelin de Badlesmere, Justiciar of Kent, around about the year 1282.

Sir Robert de Burghersh was the son and heir of Reynold de Burghersh, he was Constable of Dover Castle, and Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports from 1299 until his death. (1306) He was summoned to Parliament from the 12th of November in 1303 until the 13th of July in 1305, 'whereby he is held to have become Lord Burghersh'.

The son of Robert de Burghersh and Maud de Badlesmere Sir Bartholomew de Burghersh, Lord Burghersh, was born about 1296, and died on the 3rd day of August in 1355. He had married Elizabeth before the 11th of June in 1320, Elizabeth was the daughter of Sir Theobald de Verdun, Lord Verdun, (Justiciar of Ireland) by Maud de Mortimer.

Family.

Guncelin de Badlesmere (Justiciar of Kent, b abt 1232, Kent, d 1284-85) the son of Giles de Badlesmere (b abt 1202) by Margaret de Leveland (b abt 1208) wed in 1228. Guncelin also had a daughter named Joan de Badlesmere born about 1262, in Kent, she died on the 2nd of June in 1319, but had married Sir John de Northwode, Lord Northwode, about 1275.
