Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Marriage Rows may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Villa Amalia (film) may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s and 1 "{}"s likely mistaking one for another. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

2 German film articles
Hi Lugnuts: Interesting situation here. So far as I can determine, on the same day, 26 January 2008, you created two articles on German silent films that are in fact the same film: In the Ecstasy of Billions and Dance on the Volcano. Both articles are about Part 2 of a two-parter that is known in German as both Der Fluch der Menschheit (The Curse of Man, created by you on 25 January 2008, but that article is only about Part 1) and Der Tanz auf dem Vulkan. Part 2 is known both as Im Rausche der Milliarden and Der Tod des Großfürsten and Part 1 is known both as Die Tochter der Arbeit and Sybil Young (see German version of Bela Lugosi filmography). At least Part 2 is double-entered at IMDb: Der Fluch der Menschheit -2 and Der Fluch der Menschheit - 2. Im Rausche der Milliarden. There is also a 1938 film called [Der] Tanz auf dem Vulkan, which is what I was expecting when the link turned out to be blue: de:Tanz auf dem Vulkan. Since you created both the articles on Part 2 (and the article on Part 1), what do you think had better be done? My suggestion would be: merge the two Part 2 articles at In the Ecstasy of Billions, which has better sourcing, and I think it ought to be moved to the German title. Create an article on Tanz auf dem Vulkan. Move The Curse of Man to one of the two titles by which Part 1 goes, and make a stub at The Curse of Man on the entire two-parter, giving the alternate title Der Tanz auf dem Vulkan there - then provide a hatnote at the article on the 1938 film pointing to that stub for those seeking the 1920 two-parter or one of its parts (it looks as if Dance on the Volcano was also used in the US for just one of the parts). Do you have a better plan? Yngvadottir (talk) 17:01, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
- OK, I'll implement that plan when I have a bit more time than I do today. The 1938 film will be at Tanz auf dem Vulkan (1938) for clarity and because IMDb shows tv movies with the same title, so it should probably become a DAB page. Yngvadottir (talk) 17:38, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Clyde Duncan (disambiguation)
A tag has been placed on Clyde Duncan (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates two or fewer extant Wikipedia pages and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
- disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Boleyn (talk) 15:11, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
Question regarding notability
Upon reading the criteria as per Wikiproject:Cricket, I'm honestly somewhat perplexed. Perhaps it is due to my ignorance of the sport of cricket, but it seems to me the idea that any player or umpire since the year 1697 is far too broad; it feels akin to a creation of, say, "Wikiproject:Pokemon", asserting that any and all Pokemon are notable and merit individual articles. Please, if you may, enlighten me as to the justification for this policy. Swibe (talk) 17:54, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Jack Hart-Davis, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Natal (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Ludwig von Salm-Hoogstraeten

DYK for Ludwig von Salm-Hoogstraeten
On 11 July 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Ludwig von Salm-Hoogstraeten, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that although Olympic tennis player Ludwig von Salm-Hoogstraeten was banned from competing many times in his career for on-court misconduct, he taught tennis etiquette to children? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Ludwig von Salm-Hoogstraeten. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

RE:Stig Mårtensson
Yes, I've noticed it too. The Davis cup site has his birth date as 1913 not 1923. Although they could be different persons but what is usual and I came across such errors many times is that the pre-WW people birth dates are very uncertain. I really doubt that two socially high classed (an era-specific must) Swedish persons existed who competed in international sports and also can not be related (they couldn't be brothers - same name, couldn't be father-son - 10 years age difference). These people were multi-talented so to say and one all-round sportman practised many types of activity. So I bet it's the same person but I couldn't dig out any more - as of yet. The last touch
I swear I will never understand this strange habit of doing your strength for the last change in the pages that you followed (including through the edit completely useless). I do not know if it is forbidden by netiquette and above all do not give me a damn, the rest are so many things we do not understand a this world.;) --Kasper2006 (talk) 10:19, 19 July 2013 (UTC)

Redlinks
In theory, all of the first-class redlinks for all the teams are there - up to around 2007-08. Most of those other lists in different userspaces were very hastily cobbled together and therefore won't make any sense. Bobo. 09:19, 22 July 2013 (UTC)

Invitation to join a discussion
Through this way, I inform there is a discussion about partially disambiguated titles, known as "PDABs". This subguide of WP:D was approved at VPP. I notify you about this because you has participated in at least one RM discussion in which PDAB is cited (in any form). You are welcome to give ideas about the future of this guideline at WT:D or to ignore this message. Tbhotch.™ Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 05:48, 24 July 2013 (UTC)

Just to check - are the years the first and last years in which they appeared in any "major cricket" matches? I'm assuming by that I mean First-class and List A matches. Bobo. 12:01, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
- Sure - I'm pretty sure they are, just saw that the years were incomplete, seems like a task I can work on this weekend when I have a lot more free time! Awesome to see how few Essex redlinks there are remaining - just 17 by my count. 13 from Glamorgan, but still a fair 199 from Gloucestershire, over 250 from Middlesex...
