Re: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Deva a cast of sri lanka
Looks like another administrator got to it in the interim. Cheers, LFaraone 14:08, 17 May 2013 (UTC)

who is this? hum well hello we are the ava sisters and trying to become a superstar we have an amazing voice
Ava Sisters (talk) 04:07, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
@Ava Sisters: Hey there. I think you might want to check out our notability requirements for bands, as well as a snarky essay (not an official policy) on unknown bands and our policies on soapboxing and promotion, especially self-promotion. If you really think the band deserves an article, you can bring it up at wp:Articles for creation. Ignatzmice•talk 04:24, 19 May 2013 (UTC)

Why did you remove my edit about his band winning a award here is proof http://www.metalinjection.net/show-recap/revolver-golden-gods-awards-2013-winners-and-performance-highlights — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikiguy303952 (talk • contribs) 05:49, 19 May 2013 (UTC)

Creating a new page
Hello,
I am trying to edit the page previously worked on, Wiccan Interfaith Council International. I see that you and another admin moved the page until more info could be added, but I am having a hard time relocating it. Can you please help me find the next step to take? Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by MaeQueen (talk • contribs) 18:10, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
- @MaeQueen: It's in your userspace: User:MaeQueen/Wiccan Interfaith Council International. (You can find all pages in your userspace [that's the only one at the moment] at Special:PrefixIndex/User:MaeQueen. You'd also be able to see it in your contribs, and I did let you know on your talk page.) Cheers! Ignatzmice•talk 18:21, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
- P.S. I'm not actually an wp:admin! I just moved the page; an actual admin deleted the redirect that was created when I did that. Ignatzmice•talk 18:22, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for May 19
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Congressional Unmanned Systems Caucus, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Unmanned vehicle (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Joshua Messick
For Joshua Messick, I declined the A7 speedy deletion nomination based on the claim in the article that he won the 2003 Walnut Valley National Hammered Dulcimer Championship. How important that thing is, I have no idea, but it seemed to at least present a claim of significance. For that, I'd suggest going through WP:PROD or WP:AFD based on notability.--Slon02 (talk) 04:34, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
- @Slon02: Yeah, I noticed that... I really don't think such local festivals (however "national" they claim to be) really are that notable
, but if you're on the fence about that's fine for me.Looking at it more, I'm pretty sure it failsl WP:BIO, WP:BLP!E, and WP:GNG even, but it's not blatant spam. Maybe I will take it to AfD. Cheers! Ignatzmice•talk 11:27, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
thanks!
....for the essay shout out. Most appreciated. --j⚛e deckertalk 03:31, 24 May 2013 (UTC)

American Idol (season 12)
Just letting you know that you reverted an edit here indicating that it is a test/vandalism, but it isn't. It is a disputed edit that is being discussed in the talk page, and currently there is majority in favor of its removal. I am not the person who removed it (although I would support its removal without better references), but I thought I should inform you as it's best to avoid accusing other people of vandalism when it isn't warranted. Hzh (talk) 23:43, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
- @Hzh: Okay, I see that now. Do whatever you want with it, I suppose. I didn't look very carefully before; what I saw was a user with no user page (indicating "newbie", and I was right; sorry to stereotype) removing an entire section with absolutely no explanation (as I said in my edit summary). I was using wp:STiki, which gets a feed of edits ClueBot NG thinks are suspicious but isn't certain enough to revert. Had Sceptile said something like "removing; see talk page" or similar, I would have definitely checked it out. Ignatzmice•talk 01:13, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
- I apologize for removing the section, I am a newer user to Wikipedia and didn't realize it was counted as vandalism.Sceptile12345 (talk) 12:29, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
- @Sceptile12345: That's okay—we were all new once! Using wp:Edit summaries will go a long way toward making sure people understand why you do things, especially stuff like removing an entire section. Ignatzmice•talk 12:33, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
- I apologize for removing the section, I am a newer user to Wikipedia and didn't realize it was counted as vandalism.Sceptile12345 (talk) 12:29, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
- I see someone has already removed it again, but I would have left it unchanged for some time yet without doing anything, just in case more people want to contribute to the discussion. Usually newbies don't know what is the right thing to do, so sometimes they do things that look like vandalism. Since vandals often do create new account just to vandalize wiki pages, so I understand the rationale and it is often the correct response. I do appreciate your effort to combat vandalism, thank you. DYK for The Negro Star
On 29 May 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article The Negro Star, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Hollie Sims moved his newspaper, The Negro Star, from Mississippi to Kansas following local anger over his tribute to the black soldiers of World War I? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/The Negro Star. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
I thought this looked familiar when I saw it in the PROD deletion list; unfortunately the reason is that it has been re-created after I had already PROD-deleted it ten days ago, so I had to de-PROD and take it to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Modisumer. Editor of the Week
Editor of the Week | ||
Your ongoing efforts to improve the encyclopedia have not gone unnoticed: You have been selected as Editor of the Week, for tireless contributions to tedious tasks. Thank you for the great contributions! (courtesy of the Wikipedia Editor Retention Project) |
User Sophus Bie (talk) submitted the following nomination to Editor of the Week:
- "I would like to nominate Editor Ignatzmice as Editor of the Week. They recently returned to Wikipedia after a wikibreak of nearly six years, and they've hit the ground running, making over two thousand edits in their first months back. They have been patrolling the recent changes, notably during the worst of the Boston Marathon bombings, where they helped to keep the article free of POV and vandalism. Furthermore, they've been doing their part to reduce the backlogs at Special:NewPages and WP:AFD. They are active during community discussions, especially the testing and implementation of changes discussed at Wikipedia_talk:Notifications. And lastly, they do all sorts of gnomish tasks, such as copyediting and categorizing pages in need."
You can copy the following text to your user page to display a user box proclaiming your selection as Editor of the Week:
