All India Institute of Medical Sciences Raipur is a medical college and medical research public university based in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India.[2][3] The Institute will operate autonomously under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (India).[4]

Location

AIIMS Raipur is situated in the heart of city of Raipur.[5]

Academics

AIIMS at Jodhpur will start the academic session 2012-13 from September 17,2012, Bhopal (September 18,2012), Rishikesh (September 20), Bhubaneswar (September 21), Raipur (September 24) and Patna(September 25,2012).[6] In all, there are 50 students in the first batch of MBBS at the AIIMS Bhopal.[7]There is some likelihood of holding classes at the Bhopal's Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal (GMC)

All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Bill, 2012

The All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Bill, 2012,was introduced in the Lok Sabha on August 27,2012. This bill will also replace a recent Ordinance which allowed the six AIIMS—like institutes to become operational from September 2012.[8] Lok Sabha passed the AIIMS (Amendment) Bill, 2012 on August 30,2012.[9] The proposed measure will help the Centre change the status of the six new AIIMS registered under the Indian Societies Registration Act to be autonomous body corporate on the lines of the existing AIIMS in Delhi.AIIMS(Amendment) Bill,2012 was introduced in Rajya Sabha on September 3,2012.[10][11] Rajya Sabha passed the AIIMS (Amendment) Bill, 2012 on September 4,2012.[12][13]
