"Jiyo Utho Badho Jeeto" is a song by Indian musician A. R. Rahman. It was the official song for the 2010 Commonwealth Games, which is to be held in Delhi, India between October 3 October and 14 October 2010.[1] Released on August 28 for digital download, the much anticipated song received generally positive reception.
Development
A. R. Rahman was chose to compose the theme song way back in 2009 itself. The Commonwealth Games Organising Committee officially signed in Rahman to compose the song in April 2010.[2] Rahman asked ₹ 15 crores as renumeration, a much big amount.[2] However, considering that all this money is basically what the common man pays as income tax, it was finalised at ₹ 5.5 crore.[2] The Group of Ministers approved the song on August 15, 2010.Cite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page). Rahman also informed that the song will be out within ten days.
