San Francisco Real estate developer and philanthropist

Born in Boston, graduate of Brown University 1939. Real estate developer and philanthropist in San Francisco and New York. Heir to the Saint Francis Hotel Chain. Former Chairman of the Swig Weiler and Dinner Development Company of San Francisco and Manhattan, a family-owned real estate company whose holdings include the Fairmont Hotels. Son of Benjamin Swig. Served in the United States Army in World War II, after which he moved to San Francisco.

President of the Jewish Community Federation and the Jewish Community Endowment Fund in San Francisco. Established a program for Judaic studies and was also chairman at the University of San Francisco. Married the former Charlotte Maillard.
