Description

Revert unconstructive changes, also the filter should not instruct you to hit publish changes if the edit was constructive after throwing a false positive if the subsequent edit will also be disallowed so that at least should be fixed if possible. If possible the simple solution is to ignore all manual reverts, since if the filter allowed a recent revision in the first place, restoring it should be a non-issue.

I'm sure the IP has already changed IPs by now, but I just wanted to point out that the "[..] filter instructs you to hit the publish changes [..] only to dissallow the second attempt [..]" thing isn't because of this filter specifically - that's just something that happens when an edit triggers both a warn filter and a disallow filter, after you resend the warn one isn't triggered anymore just the disallow. – 2804:F14:809C:9001:6992:93FE:CF1:C76 (talk) 06:07, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads up. The confusing behavior is actually worse if that is a general issue rather than specific to this one filter, is there a phabricator task that will allow suppression of warning messages if a disallow filter is concurrently triggered or should one be requested?

It won't be perfect though but we have to make do with what we can do. Filter 3 used the code !(summary irlike "^(?:revert|rv|undid)") which works reasonably well I believe. We could add "undo" to the list also though. – PharyngealImplosive7 (talk) 05:00, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
