Soil is a System of a Down song released on their Self Titled Album. The song was first seen back in 1996 on Demo Tape 2.

Meaning

The song is and stated many times before, about suicide and friends that die. One such theory is that in the Pre-SOAD band Soil, one of their members commited suicide forcing them to make a new band. This was later proven false because Soil's bassist, Dave Hakopyan is the current bassist for The Apex Theory and the drummer Domingo Larino is a current local band player in Hawaii. The other theory is that a very close friend from Serj Tankian's childhood commited suicide and inspired him to write a song about him.
