Lukewon, thank you for your contributions. However, I would like to clarify my (repeated) removals of social media sites from a number of pages that you have edited recently. Per WP:ELMINOFFICIAL: "Normally, only one official link is included. If the subject of the article has more than one official website, then more than one link may be appropriate, under a very few limited circumstances.' (original bolding), we just link one official link. That means, we only link one website that is under control by the subject and the one that the subject considers to be the main site. That is often, but not always, the '.com' (more general: '<subject>.TLD'). We are here not writing a list of all websites of a subject (we are not the yellow pages), and moreover, they are often already link from the main official site of the subject. The linking of social media sites is anyway already discouraged as they are generally less informative due to their less descriptive nature and volatility. The linking of multiple official websites (subject.tld + 1 or 2 social networking sites) is really limited to very rare cases. One of the examples is Donald Trump - where he was known to such an extend for his social networking use (someone once said on-wiki that 'every other tweet seems to be world news'), and where it hence makes sense to include them.

If you want more information on this, please dig through the archives of WT:EL and WP:ELN where the linking of multiple official sites has been discussed (and dismissed) over and over. Thanks! --Dirk Beetstra T C 11:22, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
