It looks like this filter is catching lots of crud because MOST edits by non-autoconfirmed users to number pages are crud. The edits that get by the filter, at [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:RecentChangesLinked?userExpLevel=unregistered%3Bnewcomer&hidebots=1&hidecategorization=1&hideWikibase=1&target=Category%3AIntegers&limit=500&days=30&urlversion=2], aren't much better. But the scope is still too broad; by not even looking at what the user is adding, it's effectively semi-protecting certain parts of the page. Reducing this to one common type of vandalism, where some occurrences of the subject number are changed to a different number, e.g. changing "42" to "54" on page [[42]].
