New page reviewer

User:Paradoxsociety

Hi, I'd like to request new page reviewer permissions to help out with the new page patrol queue. In my anti-vandalism efforts lately I have come across a number of newer articles that could have used some review / edits or deletion proposals in certain cases, so it seems from my perspective that this front-line would benefit from another set of hands. Thank you! Paradoxsociety 03:32, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Done for two weeks as a trial period, at which point you can reapply. Please try to review 10-20 articles in that time period. signed, Rosguill talk 05:01, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Recently came back from an extended wikibreak for personal reasons. Just after I came back, I requested NPR rights having previously been a new page patroller back when that was a thing, and Anarchyte quite reasonably and understandably declined because I'd just come back from such a long hiatus of very few edits. Since then, I've made over 1000 edits in the space of a few weeks, both creating new articles and doing anti-vandalism work - hopefully showing the ol' policy noggin is still ticking along! I'd like to be able to patrol again too from time to time Naypta ☺ | ✉ talk page | 17:09, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm an AfC reviewer and have been improving Wikipedia with this as much as I can. My favourite genre being biographies, and thus I mostly review biographical articles, and if possible I help newbie users in improving their submissions. My recent articles like Muhammad Taqi Amini, Aziz al-Hasan Ghouri, Zayn al-Abidin Sajjad Meerthi, Muhammad ibn Adam Al-Kawthari may be seen for example, to check that as of now, I have understood most of the notability criteria. I use the draftify option, if I think, any submission is new, and not okay for mainspace, and whatsoever possible, I improve it. See Nizamuddin Shamzai for this. I would like to ask for this right, so that I can do my best on biographical articles. Thanks - Aaqib Anjum Aafī (talk) 03:56, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Done on the basis of good work at AfC and AfD, as well as article creation. I do want to caution youu against using draftify too heavily: it's often taken the wrong way, and nominating for AfD is usually more appropriate unless there's a clear COI or an editor has expressed a clear intention to improve the draft. Be sure to carefully read through WP:NPP as some parts of the NPP process are a bit different from AfC, and don't be afraid to ask for help from other reviewers either on their talk pages or at WT:NPR signed, Rosguill talk 05:23, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Best. I take the note and I'll do my best. - Aaqib Anjum Aafī (talk) 05:26, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've been on Wikipedia for over a year now and I enjoy creating new articles as well as taking a look at recently created articles to see if they need any improvement. New page reviewer rights will allow myself to look into newer articles quicker, as well as make further improvements to recently created articles.
Thank you. Kaito Nakamura (talk) 04:56, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Not done, you created a self-promotional article last year. While that is something that you can work past as an editor, I'm not seeing clear evidence elsewhere in your contribution history since then that suggests you understand the necessary rules and guidelines. Consider participating in Articles for deletion discussions, or creating more articles on a variety of different topics that clearly meet notability guidelines and don't have any sourcing issues. signed, Rosguill talk 06:22, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I used to be a new page patroller before the [changes came in] . I've recently (last month) returned from a break of a few years and discovered how it has changed. I've read up on the policies just to re-familiarise myself with it and check for changes and I must say I like the new resource at WP:NPP very much! My CSD log can be found here and I have just started a PROD log to go along with it now TW has that functionality. I look forward to getting back to it! Bailo26 19:17, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Glad to hear that you're interested in helping out with the backlog. Given how long you've been away, however, I'd ask that you spend a bit more time getting back into the swing of things before applying for this permission. From looking at your old patrol log, I think you'll find that our standards for new articles have gotten a bit stricter while you've been away. Other than reviewing the notability guidelines pages again, participating at WP:AfD is probably the best way to get back up to speed on current standards (and provides an actual track record that an admin can review here to verify that you have a solid understanding of the relevant guidelines). For now  Not done, but I hope to see you back here in a few weeks. signed, Rosguill talk 19:48, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to apply for NPP. I have done some content creation (mainly subjects related to owls), but I've mostly done anti-vandalism (RC patrol) work. I think I have a firm handle on reliable sources, notability, and deletion policy. I have not done any CSDs (with the exception of an attack-image on commons), but I have participated in AFDs and I have successfully nominated articles (which I came across when countering vandals) for deletion (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chao Dream Touch! Happy Anniversary, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Eliza Power, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Homie (2nd nomination)). I look forward to reviewing new articles and when possible lending a helping hand to constructive newbies. Eostrix (talk) 13:15, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your interest.  Done for 1 month as a trial period, at which point you can reapply. Be sure to carefully read through WP:NPP, and try to review at least 20-30 articles before your permissions expire. signed, Rosguill talk 00:12, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've been doing a decent amount of counter-vandalism work with Twinkle and Redwarn and would like to expand to New Page Reviewing as well. I have a decent knowledge of WP:RSP, WP:XFD, and WP:GNG. I don't currently have the ability to go through WP:NPPS because of an eclectic work schedule, but have reviewed all the recommended reading on WP:NPP.
