New page reviewer

[sigh...] I'm requesting this as I'm long-time trustworthy editor that doesn't want to lose the right to be able to see the "[Mark this page as patrolled]" link, as I occasionally "manually" patrol new pages in the course of my editing. Let me be clear – I have no intention of becoming a New Page Patrol "regular" (I do sometimes check the New Pages list, but not very often...), nor do I intend to use Page Curation. But we shouldn't be removing the ability to "spot-check" new articles from long-time regular editors, esp. those of us who occasionally come across new articles as part of our work for various WikiProjects (e.g. I sometimes come across new articles as part of WP:TV or WP:FILMBIO or even WP:TRAINS editing...). Anyway, I meet the qualification criteria, and I understand the "[Mark this page as patrolled]" link will soon be disappearing for the rest of us, so I'll go ahead and request this now. --Vivek ji123 09:46, 06 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not done Sorry, your track record of article creation and lack of participation in deletion discussions do not suggest that you are sufficiently familiar with notability guidelines to receive the new page reviewer permission at this time.
As a side note, I'm afraid that I can't find a track record of you having marked any pages as patrolled, could you point me at an example of one? signed, Rosguill talk 04:52, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I'm User:Pbritti and I'd love to help with the influx of articles being added to English Wikipedia. I've looking at a lot of the various "behind-the-scenes" conversations many users are having regarding the high rate of article creation. I have recently published several articles that have been stuck in the purgatory of being unreviewed. While I know I can't do much about those, I would love to help others avoid that bothersome uncertainty of whether their article will be accepted. Wikipedia is a wonderful resource and if there's a way to expand it while avoiding adding those articles created for malicious and commercial purposes, I'm here to help. Thanks!  Not done, your enthusiasm is appreciated, but I'm not seeing a track record (whether through significant participation in deletion discussions, in other deletion protocols like PROD or CSD, at Articles for creation, or in article creation) that would let me assess your familiarity with the relevant guidelines and policies. I would suggest either participating more in those parts of Wikipedia and building up a record of relevant work, or signing up for WP:NPPSCHOOL to get a structured primer in the relevant guidelines and policies. signed, Rosguill talk 02:11, 13 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there, I've participated in multiple WP:AFD discussions and show a clear understanding of guidelines. I would like to review new articles as I have noticed there are not nearly enough reviewers and I would like to help. BᴇʀʀᴇʟʏTalk to meWhat have I been doing 20:27, 12 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! User:Barkeep49 kindly trusted me with a 30 day reviewing trial a while back, and if I'm not mistaken that period culminated today. Would love to know if my brief experience lived up to the task, and if so I would be very happy to continue learning and hopefully improving the encyclopedia as a whole! Thank you, PK650 (talk) 01:59, 13 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Done, there's a few calls that I disagree with which I'll follow up with you on your talk page about, but overall between your review work and your participation at AfD I see enough good work to justify conferring the permission. signed, Rosguill talk 02:26, 13 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Insertcleverphrasehere posted on my talk page a little way back saying that wikipedia has a rather big backlog and need all the help they can get. So here I am to offer up some of my time to help out, cheers. Govvy (talk) 16:00, 13 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Was invited by Insertcleverphrasehere. Offering to pitch in to see if this is a place where I can help improve Wikipedia. I have (very) limited page-creation experience, but have been editing for 9 years, take part in AfDs from time to time, and am certainly capable of following the flowchart at WP:NPP. I've dabbled at AFD a bit in the past but I've been more active in recent months at WP:AFC, particularly at the help desk (although I've reviewed plenty of articles there as well). Sam-2727 (talk) 03:29, 14 March 2020 (UTC) Sam-2727 (talk) 03:29, 14 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello admin,

I gain much experience on Wikipedia about the new pages. In a short I want to say, I am now eagerly want (Give me a 1 or 2 days trial ) , I will do my best , thanks.... Mr.Mani Raj Paul (talk) 11:25, 14 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. You've contributed many excellent articles, but for the most part these articles are about subjects with obvious inherent notability (e.g. any election article, "Critcket in Country X", Fauna of Afghanistan), and thus don't really demonstrate your knowledge of assessing notability. I am also particularly concerned about Chennai Super Kings–Kings XI Punjab rivalry, which doesn't cite any sources that actually say that these teams are rivals. Finally, your experience with deletion protocols seems a bit limited based on your AfD stats and your lack of a CSD or PROD log. I would suggest increasing your participation at AfD, fixing the issue with the Chennai–Punjab rivalry article, and reapplying in a few months. signed, Rosguill talk 19:49, 15 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have previously been assigned this role for 6 months by Kudpung. I have started editing Wikipedia again and would like to help at NPP too. --MrClog (talk) 12:12, 15 March 2020 (UTC) MrClog (talk) 12:12, 15 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
