Introduction

Hi!

I'm a Wikipedia editor who tries to clean up mistakes, bad formatting, and missing citations when I see them and have the time. I guess this makes me a WikiGnome.

I am passionate about mathematics, the English language, computer science, classical music, Donkey Kong, and Spelunky (but not Mario so much). In the past, many of my edits have been spontaneous community maintenance, but I am currently focusing on improve coverage on topics of my interest.

I've been interested in the wiki format and its technical nuances for a number of years now, and I'm happy to be able to do part to contribute to the Wikipedia project when I can.

My first mainspace edit was on 27 March 2015.

Topic ban

I am currently indefinitely topic banned from policy and guideline pages and their talk pages as well as simply discussing changes to them anywhere on the English Wikipedia. As this diff clarified, this ban only covers discussing changes to such pages, not simply mentioning or linking to the pages (e.g. I am allowed to bring up WP:N in an AfD discussion). This ban started on 2018-04-14 and I have been able to appeal it since 2018-10-14, six months after it was instated.

Around the time the t-ban was carried out, I began an 11-month break from Wikipedia. One thing has remained clear to me throughout my reflections about my topic ban: I showed a striking combination of naiveté and arrogance leading up to the t-ban. I am doing my best not to repeat this, and I am also avoiding disruptive editing. I could go into more detail about my mistakes, but it currently seems better for me to move on. Perhaps another time.
