Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

- To list a technical request: Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:
This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

- The Second Great Depression (currently a redirect to Second Great Depression) → Second Great Depression (move · discuss) – Definite article unnecessary. jareha (comments) 21:34, 23 January 2019 (UTC)
- I'm contesting this request because all entries on the disambiguation that are exact matches are titled "The Second Great Depression". Nothing on that page is just called "Second Great Depression". Also see The Great Depression (disambiguation). However, I do think that creating a redirect from Second Great Depression to The Second Great Depression would be a good idea. - Lede, Belgium → Lede (move · discuss) – Was first moved to disambiguate, the primary redirects there now. Unnecessary disambiguation. Other entries at Lede (disambiguation) do not directly share the same name. Lazz_R 00:46, 24 January 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose speedy move I think the disambiguation page should be primary, or lead paragraph, since "lede" is an alternate name for that. Indeed, "lede" primarily refers to the lead paragraph [1]; Belgium's 'Lede' is not the primary topic. -- 70.51.201.106 (talk) 04:28, 24 January 2019 (UTC)
- Cardross, Argyll (currently a redirect to Cardross) → Cardross (move · discuss) – Per WP:PRECISE and WP:UKPLACE basename already redirects, primary topic per views [[2]]. Cardross, Victoria is smaller and named after it and Cardross, Saskatchewan has a population of 0. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:48, 23 January 2019 (UTC)
- Commenta Histmerge WP:SPLICE should be done on Cardross (disambiguation) and the edit history of Cardross (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) since a previous disambiguation page existed in 2007 at that location -- 70.51.201.106 (talk) 04:44, 24 January 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose speedy move I see no evidence of any great notability of the British location that would make it primary over the Australian topics, since there is an event at Australia that merited its own article, while no such events have occurred in Britain. Instead move the disambiguation page to the primary location. -- 70.51.201.106 (talk) 04:47, 24 January 2019 (UTC)
