Pending changes reviewer

User:Wpeneditor

I've been on Wikipedia for some time now and I've familarised myself with most of the wiki policies. I have been increasing my edits in recent months and will continue doing so. I occasionally come across vandalism while editing. One example is the 2018 North Korea–United States summit page which was semi-protected in the previous month. As it was a high-volume page, there were cases of vandalism and some edits were obviously incorrect, such as this one but were overlooked and accepted. For edits, I have also created several properly cited and formatted articles, such as Broader Options for Americans Act and One America Appeal. As such, I would like to request for this permission to assist me in handling vandalism and I strongly believe that this permission will allow me to better handle vandalism. Thank you. Given one of the links above, I'm not sure you understand what pending changes reviews are. Can you briefly explain what they do and how they do it? -- Amanda (aka DQ) 00:27, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@DeltaQuad: Thanks for your response. I assume you are referring to the example that I posted. I do acknowledge that it isn’t an accurate example.
Basically my understanding is that pages with the pending changes protection allow edits from new users and IP addresses. However, such edits are to be reviewed by reviewers. Edits containing vandalism, violating copyright, containing inappropriate language or do not adhere to the WP:BLP policy should be rejected. I understand that reviewers do not need to check for content accuracy, but can choose to reject the edit if they are blatantly incorrect, as illustrated in the edit I posted.
Examples from the review queue: this is an edit that I would reject while this is an edit that I would approve. I hope this makes it clearer, thanks. Wpeneditor (talk) 06:55, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have a strong editing history and I'd like to be able to approve changes to protected pages. Daask (talk) 11:27, 5 July 2018 (UTC) Daask (talk) 11:27, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not done You are not familiar with the applicable policies that you need to be. Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:7EGAS, Draft:Jean Micault, Draft:रैगर. Your also quite new at this, which is fine, but not for this permission. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 23:31, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have Xi Jinping and possibly other pending changes pages on my watchlist, and would like a hand in approving modifications as opposed to solely reverting them. CaradhrasAiguo (talk) 22:35, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have been an editor on Wikipedia for a few years and have recently started routinely editing. I am familiar with the basic content policies of Wikipedia and have read the guidelines on reviewing pending changes. Jonathan35is (talk) 15:40, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have been editing for some time and much of that has been reverting vandalism. I feel like I could help by reviewing pending changes. Tillerh11 (talk) 00:53, 7 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
