PURE goal criteria

PURE is a mnemonic acronym, giving criteria to guide in the goal setting of objectives, for example in project management, employee-performance management and personal development.

PURE stands for the following criteria set and ideally speaking, each corporate, department or personal objective or goal should be:[1]

  • Positively stated
  • Understood
  • Relevant
  • Ethical

Alternative goal setting frameworks

There are multiple alternative frameworks dedicated to goal setting, most popular are CLEAR and SMART.
