Rollback

(add requestview requests)

User:SweetCanadianMullet

Since my previous request, I have spent much of my time learning the policies and guidelines to cleaning up vandalism. I now have a better understanding on how detect and deal with vandalism. Since my request, I have also manually reverted many instances of vandalism and dealt with them properly. Having rollback rights would make this process much more efficient and effective. I have patrolled the recent changes for vandalism, and would like to use tools to improve my vandalism fighting. SweetCanadianMullet 19:45, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Since my original request, I have been actively working using Twinkle to counter vandalism. I have reported users and IPs to WP:AIV when appropriate and have learned many of the policies against vandalism, including the 3-revert-rule when dealing with good-faith edits, and the different kinds of warnings that can be issued whether this was a test-edit, obvious vandalism, or anything else. The rollback tool for me would allow me to counter vandalism more effectively both through the web interface and such tools as Huggle and STiki. Greatpopcorn (talk) 22:17, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Greatpopcorn: I will let someone else close your request this time, but personally I would not like to see your previous application among your 50 most recent contributions. You are off to a good start, but not quite there yet. Widr (talk) 23:11, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Not done. Please see the notice at the top of this page. With only 167 edits to the mainspace, I don't think you have sufficient editing experience yet. Take a moment to check out what counter-vandalism is at WP:CVU, and if you decide you'd like to get involved, you can enroll at the Counter Vandalism Academy to learn more. At first, I'm going to state that I had made one request before (MusikBot will be here soon). I had done a lot of counter-vandalism with Twinkle, RTRC and also Lupin's anti-vandal tool. Although these tools are great, I want to take it further to gain rollback permission so that I can use Huggle and maybe STiki which was faster and efficient ways of reverting vandalism. I've read the guidelines of the rollback and pledged not to misuse the feature. Thank you. NgYShung huh? 07:18, 28 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm an active editor when comes to raising the quality of articles, and reverting the near-constant vandalism that occurs in the entirety of the Interstate and US highway articles in my watchlist (that's probably an ok obsession to some degree). I feel I would have a better grasp over vandalism if I were to request this privilege. I considered making a request last year, but I figured I would wait until I was more accustomed to the policies of WP:USRD. Thank you for your time. I often revert vandalism, mostly using my watchlist, and think this button will be beneficial. After reading Wikipedia:Rollback I understand when and how this tool should be used. Gap9551 (talk) 23:07, 29 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
