Matthew G. Whitaker (born October 29, 1969, Des Moines, Iowa) is the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Iowa. He was appointed June 15, 2004 by President George W. Bush. Matt graduated with an MBA, JD and BA from the University of Iowa. While at Iowa, Matt played for the University of Iowa Hawkeye football team.
