Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
Appearance
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Technical requests
Uncontroversial technical requests
- How I Got Over → How I Got Over (song) (move · discuss) – Roots album has several times more page views, no PTOPIC. New title should still have a hatnote, since the album has a title track, but additional disambiguation to How I Got Over (Clara Ward song) feels unnecessary. Mach61 20:58, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
Requests to revert undiscussed moves
Contested technical requests
- Coaster → Coaster (disambiguation) (currently a redirect back to Coaster) (move · discuss) – the primary topic is now incorrectly and confusingly under the title "trivet", which doesn't even mean "coaster" in American English Espoo (talk) 15:48, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
- Pot coaster (or trivet) is not even close to being the primary topic (in terms of pageviews) of the term "coaster": current massviews, trivet prior to move RachelTensions (talk) 18:34, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Espoo; your technical request has been contested. You will need to open a full RM, which you can do with the "discuss" link in your request. Sennecaster (Chat) 00:08, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
- Deadair Records is invalid. Must create Deadair Records before requesting that it be moved to DeadAir Records.– camel case title, similar to eBay – MW(t•c) 00:43, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
- This has been nominated for deletion, so probably any potential move should be deferred until that process finishes. There isn't a lot of sourcing on this anyway so hard to be sure what the most common capitalisation in sources is. — Amakuru (talk) 07:12, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
- United Volleyball Club (currently a redirect to Cocolife Asset Managers) → Cocolife Asset Managers (move · discuss) – The WP:COMMONNAME for the team. Yes it is a sponsored team name but the volleyball club has always been referred to Cocolife first throughout its whole existence. Hariboneagle927 (talk) 17:17, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Hariboneagle927 The sources at the page appear to use both names, so this might be contentious and require a full RM. Raladic (talk) 18:02, 19 November 2024 (UTC)

- Israel–Hezbollah conflict (2023–present) → Israel–Hezbollah conflict (2023–2024) (currently a redirect back to Israel–Hezbollah conflict (2023–present)) (move) – There seems to be consensus at Talk:Israel–Hezbollah_conflict_(2023–present)#Options that the scope of this article should be until Sep 30, 2024. No one has contested it thus far. However, if anyone has any objections, let me know and I will start a RfC to discuss this. VR (Please ping on reply) 00:00, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
- This may need discussion on the article's talk page. Kolano123 (talk) 17:03, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Kolano123, there was a discussion here: Talk:Israel–Hezbollah_conflict_(2023–present)#Options. Do you think this was sufficient? VR (Please ping on reply) 22:22, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Vice regent I'm just letting you know that moving it to the title you propose it to be moved to (Israel-Hezbollah conflict (2023-2024)) may need discussion on the article's talk page. Kolano123 (talk) 07:49, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Vice regent, can you open a RM discussion? This has been up for 5 days, I believe the usual admins patrolling here, including me, have seen this request and not act on it.
- Personally, I think this request is in a grey area as to whether to treat it as a continuation of the previous move discussion since this section was opened mid-way then, or a new one, which was not advertised the usual way (and also it was self-closed and pushed along by yourself?). Furthermore, there is a recent edit request which runs contrary to your intention, Talk:Israel–Hezbollah_conflict_(2023–present)#Extended-confirmed-protected_edit_request_on_14_November_2024. – robertsky (talk) 02:20, 19 November 2024 (UTC)

- @Vice regent I'll be the second admin to chime in that this would need a full move discussion to make me comfortable executing the move. --Ahecht (TALK
