Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Santiago Claudio (talk | contribs) at 01:28, 24 November 2023 (Uncontroversial technical requests: Added mine). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."

  • To list a technical request: edit the Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:

    {{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}

    This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
  • If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
  • If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

CursedWithTheAbilityToDoTheMath - This should probably be a Talk page discussion on the merits of splitting the current article and/or rewriting it to differentiate between the disease and the syndrome. Changing the article title per your request would not address the underlying confusion. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 20:29, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Doomsdayer520: Thank you for the input! I'm just wondering, what would be the best way to go about this? The only issue with starting a talk page discussion is that the page hasn't really had any significant edits since 2019 and isn't very popular so i doubt anyone would reply. Should I propose a merge (can you even do that for a redirect page), or should i revert the redirect and make a page for Cruveilhier-Baumgarten syndrome? I'm still quite new to this and the processes of merging, moving or deleting pages is very confusing for me so any input would be appreciated! 23:56, 21 November 2023 (UTC) CursedWithTheAbilityToDoTheMath (talk) 23:56, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
CursedWithTheAbilityToDoTheMath - Consider asking for advice on how to cover the condition at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Medicine. They may have standards on how to handle a syndrome vs. disease with the same background like this, either in two articles or in a strategically written single article. That seems like an active project and they have problably dealt with this kind of thing before. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 13:19, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much for the help! CursedWithTheAbilityToDoTheMath (talk) 17:28, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Amusingly, the official website is selling the album as PEP. https://store.iamlights.com/products/pep-exclusive-digital-album – robertsky (talk) 17:00, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
