Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests

If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

Uncontroversial technical requests
- In the City (Charli XCX song) (currently a redirect to In the City (Charli XCX and Sam Smith song)) → In the City (Charli XCX and Sam Smith song) (move · discuss) – The song is credited to Charli XCX and Sam Smith, so both artists should be included in the page name (e.g. Lemon (N.E.R.D. and Rihanna song)). I can't move the page due to an existing redirect. Sock (
tocktalk) 18:32, 19 October 2023 (UTC) - Polish Cultural Institute and Museum (Winona, Minnesota) (currently a redirect to Kashubian Cultural Institute & Polish Museum) → Kashubian Cultural Institute & Polish Museum (move · discuss) – with our new directorship, we have changed our name to expand upon the Kashubian culture and heritage within Winona, along with our new displays 207.138.198.33 (talk) 16:47, 17 October 2023 (UTC)
- Just a note to anyone else who sees this that the nominator here appears to have a stated WP:COI (based on this edit summary [1]). I don't intend to move this myself for that reason, but if someone else should see this I felt this was pertinent information. estar8806 (talk) ★ 18:56, 17 October 2023 (UTC)
Requests to revert undiscussed moves
- Saiyuki Gaiden → Saiyuki Gaiden (OVA) (currently a redirect instead to Saiyuki (manga)) (move · discuss) – I created a separate article for the manga of this original video animation (OVA) series with the original name Saiyuki Gaiden and my draft is ready for main article space. M.A.LasTroniN910t@lk 07:06, 17 October 2023 (UTC)
- I think Saiyuki Garden (anime) would be a better title. I have no idea what OVA means. — Amakuru (talk) 10:26, 17 October 2023 (UTC)
- Original video animation (OVA), the first request is more suitable, please read more about it. M.A.LasTroniN910t@lk 20:28, 17 October 2023 (UTC)
- Moving it here because the two pages were swapped a mere month ago. They should be moved back first before a move (or histmerge) of User:M.A.LasTroniN910/sandbox. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 00:12, 19 October 2023 (UTC)
- So when are you going to move the Saiyuki Gaiden article to Saiyuki Gaiden (OVA)? M.A.LasTroniN910t@lk 09:48, 19 October 2023 (UTC)
- Looking over the two articles, I find myself thinking that the best solution might be to have a single Saiyuki Gaiden article that discusses both the manga and the OVA. To that end, my suggestion would be not to move the existing article, but instead to just merge in content from User:M.A.LasTroniN910/sandbox and make any necessary edits to reflect the updated article scope. Contested technical requests
- Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist (Cleveland, Ohio) → Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist (Cleveland) (currently a redirect back to Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist (Cleveland, Ohio)) (move · discuss) – Per naming conventions Mvcg66b3r (talk) 20:22, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
- If omitting the state from the DAB brackets is 'per naming conventions' could you link to the rule? A perusal of St. John's Cathedral#United States shows that many American churches don't seem to follow this, since they *do* include the state. My own preference would be to drop the state from the DAB brackets but this might lead to an argument. EdJohnston (talk) 14:47, 17 October 2023 (UTC)
- Glancing at Template:Roman_Catholic_Diocese_of_Cleveland, quite a few seems to use "(Cleveland, Ohio)", not count redirects. -Kj cheetham (talk) 22:11, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
- This is definitely unneeded extra disambiguation. Make a multi-RM for the lot. Dicklyon (talk) 18:02, 19 October 2023 (UTC)
- Port of Jacksonville → JAXPORT (currently a redirect back to Port of Jacksonville) (move · discuss) – Official name of the port is JAXPORT. Rnl2294 (talk) 19:05, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
- You'd have to first sort out whether JAXPORT refers to the Port Authority, as they say it does, or the port; or both. This retargeting by move seems wrong. Dicklyon (talk) 03:49, 17 October 2023 (UTC)

- Gangaa → Gangaa (TV series) (move · discuss) – disambiguation 49.33.211.114 (talk) 16:07, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
