Rollback

User:Faster than Thunder

I have been partially patrolling recent changes, and dealing with the vandalism I currently deal with would be easier with this right. Faster than Thunder (talk | contributions) 14:06, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. Only six uses of the undo tool throughout the year. Also, a source was not needed for this. "For" is often not capitalised in works. Anarchyte (talk) 10:27, 17 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:Luks25

I have been editing Wikipedia for many years and have made over 12000 edits in the mainspace. I understand Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, specially patrolling possible vandalism, reversing some of them on my own and/or in case of recurrence, reporting to other users and/or administrators so that they can take the necessary measures. So I think it would be beneficial to the community for me to gain rollback to help in the fight against vandalism on Wikipedia. Luks25 (talk) 15:12, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Luks25, despite your editing experience of over a decade and a five-digit number of edits, it seems – looking at your list of undos – that you're yet to establish the required "measurable track record of counter-vandalism". Would you mind gaining some experience with Special:RecentChanges, as well as Twinkle for reverting and warning users? ~ ToBeFree (talk) 10:17, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, sure, I don't mind to gain more experience before, thanks!! Luks25 (talk) 20:53, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not done per above. Anarchyte (talk) 04:18, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:TechnoSquirrel69

Hey there! I'd like to request rollback rights to assist in the counter-vandalism work I've been doing for the last couple months, primarily while reviewing pending changes, but also in limited cases while reviewing at AfC. I am currently learning more about dealing with vandalism at CVUA. I have read the rollback guideline in its entirety, and will follow it in good faith to the best of my ability. User:Insendieum

Hi. I am fairly new to editing on Wikipedia, but I would like to request the permissions for rollback rights as I undo vandals edits. I am active on pages regarding meteorology but if any other vandalism is spotted on a page I am reading, I will make sure to undo it. Thanks for your time! I also by mistake have undone multiple wrong edits on an IP account which I heavily regret because I was active on that specific IP but hopefully I am qualified enough for this feature!

Oppose This user has very little in the way of vandalism reverts and demonstrated carelessness with [1], which ignored the discussion at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Tropical_cyclones#Strongest_storm where there was consensus for the change.--Jasper Deng (talk) 03:52, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Understanded. I have not been viewing projects on Wikipedia, such as this. So I am very sorry for demonstrating this type of behavior. Insendieum (talk) 03:57, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not done - per Jasper Deng and lack of experience. Consider pending changes reviewer first after you gain some more experience. Anarchyte (talk) 10:29, 17 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:Rjjiii

I have used Twinkle to roll back bogus edits. A couple times Twinkle has seemed to run very slowly and I have read that the official Rollback does not have this downside. Rjjiii(talk) 07:01, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:Remsense

Among other things, I would like to experiment with various semi-automated tools such as SWViewer. Remsense (talk) 06:30, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Remsense: You've only been active for a few months recently. Would you be happy to reapply in a few couple of months time after you've gained more experience with counter-vandalism, and a more demonstrable track record of using the undo tool? Anarchyte (talk) 04:41, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:Nagol0929

I started my wikipedia account by reverting vandalism and I continue to this day. I have pending changes reviewer rights and I have most of my edits from reverting vandalism. Receiving rollback rights will greatly speed up the pace when I revert vandalism. Nagol0929 (talk) 12:51, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Done as a one month trial. I'm hesitant to grant indefinitely based on the discussions on your talk page, and the occasional incorrect revert. However, I don't believe these should bar you from a temporary grant. Please re-apply here when it expires. Anarchyte (talk) 13:52, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:Reshadp

This may be a bit premature but I'm going to be bold and ask for rollback rights.

I've been patrolling recent changes, and have been using Twinkle to revert vandalism and warn users where required.

I did install Huggle and while this does seem to be much more efficient than the Recent Changes page, it is read-only without the rollback permissions. Reshadp (talk) 04:29, 14 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done There are a few recent reverts where it would have been useful for you to have provided an edit summary. Using rollback is only when it's unambiguously vandalism; if there is a need to explain why a revert took place, the undo tool should be used (like here, where the term "builder" is used later. Your revert was correct, but needed an explanation). I think you're almost there, but a month or so more of experience would benefit you. Anarchyte (talk) 12:58, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting rollback rights to help with RC patrol and counter-vandalism, currently a member of CVU and learning more at CVUA. I have over 500 edits on the mainspace and a decent history of RC patrol. I also have experience with RedWarn and Twinkle as counter-vandalism tools. Justanotherinternetguy ε=ε=ε=ε=┌(; ̄▽ ̄)┘ --> talk 13:02, 14 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Done as a month trial. The only thing that gives me pause is the fact you've only been editing for about two months. Please re-apply here when the perm expires. Anarchyte (talk) 12:23, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:Tumbuka Arch

Hi, I would like to request for Rollback rights. I use SWViewer and Twinkle to fight against vandalism, spam and promo. The reason why I need Rollback rights is that it is easier when reverting vandalism done by a single user with several vandal edits on a given page than manually undoing each revision. I have read and confirmed Rollback Policy. Thank you.-- Tumbuka Arch 05:58, 15 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:Adilalishah

In have recently started reviewing pending changes and have have been fighting disruptive edits. It would be a great help to be able to use rollback rights to counter widespread edits like vandalism and edit-warring. Adilalishah 03:37, 17 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Done as a month trial. You only started being active this year, so I'd like to see how you use rollback before granting indefinitely. Please re-request here once the month is up. Anarchyte (talk) 04:33, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:Mark Ironie

When I was desysoped, there were several user rights I lost. I think they were bundled with being an admin. I think with 18yrs of editing and anti-vandal work, I can safely handle the rollback user right. Thank you. Cheers, Mark Ironie (talk) 22:01, 17 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I am requesting rollback perms to help better fight vandalism using the AntiVandal tool. I have a track record of anti-vandalism which is mainly through monitoring recent changes using the RedWarn patrol script. ––– GMH MELBOURNE TALK 12:36, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
