New page reviewer

User:Karnataka

I regularly review drafts from Special:NewPagesFeed and have reviewed older drafts, with the permission I will be able to also simultaneously review newer pages through the page feed as well as older unpatrolled pages. I understand NPR's procedures and believe that I meet the guidelines: I am an AfC reviewer and have nominated many suitable articles I've come across to CSD and have a good AfD participation rate. Karnataka (talk) 13:39, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia and your interest in this permission. Unfortunately, while overall your AfD match rate is quite high, I'm concerned by recent AfDs, particularly Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Mistress and the Maids, as well as some article creations that seem a bit weak on notability.  Not done, but consider reapplying in the future. signed, Rosguill talk 00:38, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello all! A few weeks/months back, I was granted a new page reviewer trial period after completing NPP school and being involved in deletion processes. Since then, I’ve used the Page curation toolbar quite a lot to review, tag, and mark pages for deletion. I decided to focus on mostly redirects, as the backlog for them is currently much higher, but also sometimes review articles with the knowledge gained from NPP school. I admit I did have a few issues on my first few days of reviewing, but what matters is that I’ve learned from my mistakes and work to improve. Thanks! - 🔥𝑰𝒍𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑭𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒆 (𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒌)🔥 20:24, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It’s also important to note that I haven’t been able to commit to reviewing new pages as much as I’d like because I’ve been on vacation and planning vacation during the trial. - 🔥𝑰𝒍𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑭𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒆 (𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒌)🔥 20:39, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I have been an editor on enwiki for a while now and would like to request the new page reviewer bit to help out with the extensive backlogs. I fit all the requirements and have a good knowledge of WP guidelines around content. I'm fairly active at WP:AfD and I CSD tag regularly. Thanks! ULPS (talk) 18:18, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Done for 1 month as a trial run, aftter which you may reapply. I note that the recent creation of Jeff Allen (defensive back, born 1948) suggests a concerning lack of familiarity with the current text of WP:NSPORTS following revisions in 2022, but otherwise your track record seems good enough to justify the permissionns.signed, Rosguill talk 21:26, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I would like to request the New Page Patrol rights as an experienced editor here on Wikipedia. In the past, I have had temporary NPP rights twice, and you can check my performance during those periods. Additionally, I have experience with AfDs, PROD, AfC, and have also assisted many users at the WP:Teahouse.

I have noticed that the New Page Patrol is currently facing challenges in keeping up with the influx of new articles. I believe obtaining these rights would allow me to contribute to the project and help clear the backlog. Thank you for considering my request. ❯❯❯ Chunky aka Al Kashmiri (✍️) 04:46, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:Paper9oll

Hi, I would like to request for NPP permission to help reduce the huge workload/backlog of NPP reviewers. I have been on Wikipedia since 2013, have made over 65000 edits, and have familiarized myself with the prerequisite required for this permission. I often help out in draftspace of my interest, and noticed that there are quite of huge backlog that are pending review, in which only NPP reviewers are allowed to accept/reject it, I believed with my knowledge, I can volunteer to reduce it. Thank you for considering me! Paper9oll (🔔📝) 13:59, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have article (incl. BLP) creation (and major overhaul and expansion into much larger article) experience here, I am autopatrolled on Wikipedia and WikiCommons, have participated in AfD, and have done some PRODS. Am willing to learn the NPP process. Aszx5000 (talk) 21:28, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Endorse: The exceptionally-early granting of autopatrol by Beeblebrox speaks to this editor's strengths, in my opinion. Everything looks good to me, particularly the strong AfD stats. I don't see much interaction with newcomers, but that's not an issue per se; there's no real indication of WP:BITE problems. Actualcpscm (talk) 11:33, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your high-quality contributions to Wikipedia and your interest in this permission. Unfortunately, as a precaution against abuse of advanced permissions, I'm going to decline out of hand because of how recently you received autopatrol. Please reapply again a few months down the road.  Not done signed, Rosguill talk 00:19, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No problem and thanks Rosguill for that. I thought I met the stated criteria and being autopatrolled was a bonus. I wonder if the criteria should be updated/wording tightened? Regardless, thank you for considering. Aszx5000 (talk) 09:57, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Veteran editor for 18 years (albeit with a two-year break during 2018–19 thanks to conlanging/Google+ commitments back then); 13,000+ edits (and 320+ articles created) at this writing; now focusing on creation/adoption of AFC drafts + article assessment through WP:Rater. Committed to bringing down the backlog to an acceptable level, long-term, if approved. (H/T User talk:Slgrandson/Archive/2016#New deal for page patrollers.) User:TruxtVerified

I am writing to request the "New Page Reviewer" feature permission on Wikipedia. I have been a registered user for over 1 year and have made over 800+ edits to mainspace. I have also participated in the deletion processes, Articles for Creation, and policy-compliant content editing. I have a solid track record of interacting with other editors, especially new editors, in a civil and constructive manner. I have experience moving pages in accordance with relevant guidelines. I have no behavioral blocks or 3RR violations in the last 6 months. I commit to solely reviewing pages on a volunteer basis.

I believe that I have the knowledge and experience necessary to be a helpful and effective New Page Reviewer. I am familiar with the Wikipedia policies and guidelines for new pages, and I am confident that I can identify and flag pages that need improvement. I am also committed to providing constructive feedback to new editors.

I would be grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the quality of Wikipedia by helping to ensure that new pages are of a high standard. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely, TruxtVerified (talk) 07:03, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done Thanks for your interest in this, but because you have recent blocks and draft declines, and no experience in CSD and AFD that I can find, I don't think you're quite ready yet. Feel free to gain some experience in NPP-related areas such as CSD, AFD, and AFC, and reapply at a later date. Happy editing. –Novem Linguae (talk) 07:34, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't mind studying the criteria and contributing but my primary object is to fix, update, submit and otherwise study sources for the Chinese Legalism page, of which I am the contributor. It will involve studying the entire field. FourLights (talk) 08:24, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your statement of purpose does not relate to the function of WP:NPP. New page reviewers do not review their own contributions, and the new page reviewer permission is not needed for the work you propose are proposing on Legalism.  Not done signed, Rosguill talk 00:41, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:Ionel141

Hi there, I would like to assist in new page reviewing as i am reviewing and fixing things in new articles and love to review. Thank you. (talk) 11:39, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your interest!
Comment: No AfD or AfC experience, and article creation seems to be limited to very specific topics. A lot of draftified creations; although those are quite old, the creation experience is also not that recent, so I'm not sure the sourcing issues that were raised in that context are entirely resolved. Actualcpscm (talk) 11:43, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your contributions and your interest in this permission. However, I agree with the above concerns, and would suggest that you get some experience with deletion tagging, WP:AFD, and/or WP:AFC reviewing before reapplying.  Not done signed, Rosguill talk 00:47, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for suggesting me for this on my talk page. I would like to apply for this to help with the backlog of articles to be reviewed since I am a very active user. Formula Downforce (talk) 10:01, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions and your interest in this permission. Zippybonzo [suggested] that I apply to become a new page reviewer, given the large backlog. As they noted, I'm extremely active on wikipedia and have been a contributor for over a decade now. I've made a lot more than 500 mainspace edits (366,000+ edits... arguably too many edits 🙄). I've only recently begun creating my own articles (24 or so), such as Brendale v. Confederated Yakima Indian_Nation, James Sakoda. I'm familiar with the deletion processes (although more for categories than pages, but I'm happy to rectify that). I believe my history civil interaction with other editors, particularly newcomers, demonstrates my understanding of the community's guidelines. I have no past 3RR violations or behavioral blocks. My trial period of one month NPR rights will come to an end in the next few days. I've marked more than 80 articles as reviewed, and to the best of my knowledge, none of my decisions led to any sort of issue. Some of the articles about Nepalese politicians that I and other reviewers reviewed were deleted because they were created by a sockpuppet, but their significance was clear because they all belonged to chief ministers, ministers, and legislators who clearly pass WP:NPOL. Please have a look at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Articles for creation#Nepalese politicians - block avoidance?. Thanks! 𝙳𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚖𝚁𝚒𝚖𝚖𝚎𝚛 𝚍𝚒𝚜𝚌𝚞𝚜𝚜 14:56, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have been regularly editing Wikipedia since 2021, during which time I have created several hundred articles and helped with article creation and improvement, especially with WP:Women in Red. I'm sure I still have much more to learn--especially regarding new page patrol--but I feel I have a good understanding of the criteria. I was invited to apply by Zippybonzo, and I would like to have this right. I've created dozens of articles, primarily regarding U.S. presidential nominations and translations from the Russian Wikipedia. Even though I'm not perfect with it (I have received notability tags placed on my articles, but that frequency has decreased over time), I try to communicate with other editors to see if we can find common ground or just to get an understanding. I've been editing for roughly three years now and have over 42,000 edits. Thank you in advance for your consideration. Losipov (talk) 20:12, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Was reminded that I never got around to applying for NPP, despite my regular monitoring of more than a few new page and draft feeds. Hi. I came to know that the backlog is quite large. Hence I decided to volunteer. I've been learning the NPR procedures for the past few days by pausing my regular editing. I have extensive expertise writing articles on a variety of fields, particularly biographies, focused on women. Despite my limited involvement in AFC, I have expanded a few existing drafts on notable women, helped in publishing them to the mainspace. My AFD engagement is comparatively low; however, my understanding of various notability guidelines may be valuable in reviewing the articles. Thilsebatti (talk) 06:17, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
