Rollback

I would like to have the rollback permission as it would make watching my watchlist easier, when vandalism occurs. I currently use Twinkle, but some recent situations involving vandalism from a sockpuppet master (more info: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Iran Turkey war) involve a lot of reversions. I have experience in reverting other vandalism and am aware and understand the WP:3R rule. I have gotten many users reported to AIV and successfully blocked. Thanks, Fork99 (talk) 03:54, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've been reverting vandalism for a while now, and I'd like rollback rights to help me achieve this a bit more effectively. Grumpylawnchair (talk) 01:31, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've been reverting a lot of vandalism since I became a recent changes patroller to the point where I think I would qualify for rollback. I have more than 3500 edits to the English Wikipedia. With this, I can access tools that require rollback rights (e.g. AntiVandal) so I can contribute more to the English Wikipedia. I have read both H:RV and WP:RBK. [EDIT: I forgot to mention that I was declined for not having a recordable track history for vandalism, which I have fixed] 📖 (💬/📜) 23:19, 17 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have been editing on Wikipedia for years now, and I have around 1200 edits made, including a fixing vandalism from a a vandalism-only account which I nominated successfully for an indefinate ban. I think I am a good candidate for roll back permissions. Vyvagaba (talk) 13:12, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Vyvagaba, you currently seem to lack the required "measurable track record of counter-vandalism". Also, a block is not a ban. When you patrol recent changes to gain more experience with the process, please make sure to educate users whose contributions you revert, for example using a template listed at WP:UWARN on their user talk page. Please also try Twinkle and make sure to distinguish between good-faith disruption and actual vandalism (intentional, bad-faith damage). ~ ToBeFree (talk) 21:14, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reason for requesting rollback rights To make it easier, especially when reverting vandalism. Thanks Denisarona (talk) 15:00, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The previous revocation of rollback and this old ANI thread will need to be addressed before this request goes anywhere. DanCherek (talk) 03:49, 26 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

My lack of response in 2020 was due to COVID and, thankfully, I have fully recovered. If the rollback cannot be given, then I will continue as I have done since recovering. Thanks Denisarona (talk) 14:02, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
DanCherek, TheresNoTime, and of course Deepfriedokra: While we're talking about past misuse of a permission, we can perhaps agree that "rollback misuse" alone, by itself, is... a minor and common offense, although describing it as such here on this page isn't ideal for sure. I personally also am very open to accept a 2020 behavioral issue as something COVID-based; I guess we have all had it by now and we know its effects from own experience. What currently bugs me most is the bumpy way we got here – bumpy enough to make me personally not grant the permission, but anyone reading this would have my support in granting it as a second chance. Not as a time-limited "trial" though, please; we're not dealing with a newcomer who needs to be monitored like a child. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 14:14, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Denisarona: Welp, my three questions are always along the lines of how'd things go pear-shaped, what will you do/not do instead, and what constructive use will you put the tool to? -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 15:42, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, yes. February 2020, when FlaHealth swore and bedamned there was no community spread of COVID-19, and my whole family were sicker than dogs, and after which the mental clouding lasted for more than a year. Meh. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 15:48, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have much more experience than my previous request, I currently use Twinkle for reverting and can heavily contribute further to fighting vandalism with this right. Karnataka (talk) 21:21, 24 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I would like to request Rollback Rights so I can use tools that require it such as AntiVandal and Huggle. Thanks for your time. Knowledgegatherer23 (Say Hello) 06:50, 26 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I have been doing the work of removing vandalism on English Wikipedia for many days and this work is still going on. To make this task easier, I am enrolling for rollbackers.-MP1999 talk 11:59, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not going to accept or decline this right now, but feel free to ping me once you're done your CVUA with Zippybonzo and I'll take another look. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 22:56, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've been here for years now and actively editing for the last several months. I have a good grasp of Wikipedia policies and editing manuals. I often notice vandalism and this right would allow me to be more handy reverting vandalism. Cheers. X (talk) 02:17, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done - the rollback right is for users who consistently revert vandalism; it looks like you've reverted only three edits in total. If you'd like, you can install Twinkle, which has similar functionality. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 22:36, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I have been a contributor to Wikipedia for over 15 years and have developed a deep understanding of Wikipedia policies. I have a demonstrated history of countering vandalism and removal of unreliable content - while always communicating with/issuing warnings to the concerned editor. To that effect, roll back rights would greatly aid me in my work, particularly with relation to dealing with multiple nonconstructive edits quickly, while also allowing access to more streamlined tools, such as AntiVandal and Huggle. Thank you. Wiki.0hlic (talk) 13:57, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now; your last 50 reverts go back more than five years. I'd like to see more consistent activity before granting rollback. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 22:31, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I have been trying to counter vandalism for a considerable time and believe that I have more experience than I had on my last request (5 years back :D). I have been using Twinkle to rollback for a while but would love to have True Rollback rights. Thanks. aggarwala2727 (talk) 14:14, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oops! I just checked the archives and realised that I had re-applied in 2020 and got rejected back then for being inexperienced. Just wanted to mention the same. aggarwala2727 (talk) 14:17, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not done for now; it looks like you've only reverted a few dozen edits since 2021. I'd like to see some more activity before granting rollback. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 22:25, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@HJ Mitchell: I was granted rollback for a trial period of 1 month and I believe that I have successfully proven myself so I am here to request permanent rollback as my rollback has now expired. — FenrisAureus (she/they) (talk) 13:16, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
