NPOV

The English name for this Island is usually the Japanese one. The Google test gives 81,000 hits for "Kunashir", 194,000 for "Kunashiri".

Since the Russian landgrab in 1945 has never been recognized by any civilized country and violates even the Soviet declaration of the 1950's, it is ludicrous that Wikipedia validates it. 68.150.238.234 (talk) 19:57, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This islands are russian today. Those are the facts.

And about the langrab what about the Mexican–American War and the American langrab of Texas and the half of Mexico or the Spanish–American in 1898 and the langrab of Cuba, Puerto rico and Philipines.

Who is the population

Is the population from Japan or Russia? The history is also a little poor, who are the original people? Obviously I am guessing the Ainu --Inayity (talk) 12:54, 1 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I recently watched a documentary movie for Kuril islands and I saw a lot of pretty blonde girls and they not look like japanese so I am not thinking there live many japanese today. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.85.151.152 (talk) 22:24, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose proposal isn't based on policy, obvious political animus with low effort put into it. Killuminator (talk) 06:06, 19 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose, not a policy-based proposal.--Ymblanter (talk) 10:12, 19 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
is there btw any reason that the article is called Kunashir Island and not Kunashir? Are there other Kunashirs around? Ymblanter (talk) 10:14, 19 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
