Rollback

I was granted rollback for a month on a trial basis almost a month ago (while I had the username Jguglielmin) - putting this request in since the permission will automatically be removed in about 1 day. I've been using Huggle regularly to revert vandalism, and have been granted pending changes reviewer as well several days ago. I'm now very comfortable with the policies and guidelines surrounding the use of rollback, and am confident in my ability to identify when edits are vandalism. I've read the rollback and understand when and where to apply it. I also know when to use the other revert options and when to use rollback. I'm requesting rollback permission to revert the obvious vandalism, as well as pending change reviewer permission if possible. I've also read and comprehended WP:RPC and WP:Vandal. DreamRimmer (talk) 18:20, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not done That you warned a recent changes patroller for edit warring when they were clearly reverting vandalism suggests that you need more experience. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:44, 8 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@HJ Mitchell: I reminded him about the 3RR rule because his 24-hour continuous revert on particular articles was half vandal and half unreferenced edits, and you can see I didn't use the original template completely; I only sent some important information, as I told them later. I appreciate your suggestion and will make another request in the future. DreamRimmer (talk) 02:07, 9 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@DreamRimmer: Although I'm not involved here, just to clarify the rule for you - all of the reversions they had made on that article were exempt from 3RR. From WP:NOT3RR, the following are included in reversions exempt from the rule: "4. Reverting obvious vandalism—edits that any well-intentioned user would agree constitute vandalism, such as page blanking and adding offensive language.", and "7. Removing contentious material that is libelous, biased, unsourced, or poorly sourced according to Wikipedia's biographies of living persons (BLP) policy...". All three of their reversions fell under one of these two groups - although I'd argue that all of them constituted obvious vandalism, the second and third were reverts to unsourced content in a BLP and therefore exempt even if you don't agree with that characterization. 3RR was simply not relevant in any way in this situation. (By the way, it does indeed seem you used the original template completely, the warning you sent is the exact text of {{uw-ewsoft}}.) Tollens (talk) 03:09, 9 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The reason is I want to rollback edits is if I see suspected vandalism or unsourced material. CastJared (talk) 20:20, 8 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. You have a recent warning on your talk page for unattributed copying within Wikipedia, there are concerns about your communication skills, and multiple editors are asking you to slow down. Giving you a right that allows you to edit faster seems like a bad idea. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:48, 8 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've been reverting some minor vandalism and it's work that I've enjoyed so far. I've read over the material in the syllabus at WP:CVUA and I think I've got a pretty good handle on everything. I have experience with WP:NPP so I have a fair understanding of the relevant policies and rules, as well as applying rules here. I make mistakes, when I make them I record them on my talk page and use them as a learning moment to improve myself as an editor. If I don't use a permission I request that it's removed, I've done this before where I was autopatrolled and after getting the permission I didn't feel like writing 500 articles on lichen so I asked for it to be removed. If I end up not liking vandalism work I'll do the same. Dr vulpes (💬📝) 23:12, 9 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
