If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

- To list a technical request: Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:
This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Technical requests
Uncontroversial technical requests
- Chatswood railway station → Chatswood station (currently a redirect back to Chatswood railway station) (move · discuss) – Precedent suggests that stations served by both metro and mainline trains, use simply "station" in the title, see West Brompton station --- Tbf69 P • T 18:51, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
- I don't disagree with the sentiment here, but is this in line with Australian station naming convention? West Brompton station is in England. I note that a number of station articles have been recently moved by OP with no discussion. 162 etc. (talk) 19:02, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
- Senator Ellis (disambiguation) (currently a redirect to Senator Ellis) → Senator Ellis (move · discuss) – Powhatan Ellis is the only US senator, but there are lots of state senators. Clarityfiend (talk) 18:40, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Clarityfiend: It looks like Powhatan is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, though, so this would be a WP:PCM. - UtherSRG (talk) 19:37, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
Requests to revert undiscussed moves
- Social justicialism is invalid. Must create Social justicialism before requesting that it be moved to Social justice.– revert undiscussed move to nonsense title MrOllie (talk) 19:36, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
Contested technical requests
- Bakasuran → Bakasuran (2023 film) (move · discuss) – To avoid confusion with Bakasura and with another film Buckasura. 122.178.74.157 (talk) 17:56, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
- 122.178.74.157, what happens with Bakasuran if this page is moved to the disambiguated title? If you want Bakasuran to be moved to disambiguated title, why not the other two as well? In my opinion, a good hatnote works very well in clarifying this confusion. ─ The Aafī (talk) 18:16, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
- I agree. This move creates unnecessary disambiguation, where a hatnote would do just fine.
- @TheAafi, pings don't work with IP editors, so I've added a TB to their talk page. Silikonz💬 18:20, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Silikonz, thanks for that. I wasn't sure about the ping stuff. ;) new addition to my knowledge. I just logged off from my system and I'm moving this discussion to contested ones ─ The Aafī on Mobile (talk) 18:23, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
- This is a recent low-budget local movie made only in Tamil language. 122.178.74.157 (talk) 18:27, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
- The question remains: If the 2023 film isn't the primary topic, what should Bakasuran be? A disambiguation page? A primary redirect? 162 etc. (talk) 18:57, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
