Pending changes reviewer

User:Flamealpha123

I noticed that many articles related to Muhajirs have been ignored by pending changes reviewer. I intend to focus on the Muhajir articles. Flamealpha123 (talk) 12:12, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Flamealpha123: Sorry for the late response. I see you've had a block for using multiple accounts before, so I cannot help wondering what your relationship is with Whisperingthefirst. Is this you? —Femke 🐦 (talk) 11:28, 17 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to request the "pending changes reviewer" permission to help clear any backlogs of changes that need to be reviewed. I am familiar with all the necessary policies required and have been actively reverting vandalism for the last month, using the Real-Time Recent Changes tool (RTRC). I see the backlog is getting large again. I would like to help deal with this situation. It is frustrating for editors to wait long periods for their good faith edits to be approved. The last time I requested this permission I was denied on the grounds of not issuing enough warnings to vandals. Since that time, I have increased the number of warnings that I issue. Constant314 (talk) 21:27, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I still see quite a few examples of omitted warnings ([1] [2] (and is this spam? Could be good-faith), [3]. Can you commit to leaving a warning to each vandal reverted and explanation for good-faith edits for brand-new editors? @Constant314:. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 11:40, 17 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The first was likely an editing test. Although we don't like it, inserting a space causes very low harm because the rendering engine ignores it. I presume that this was a kid or new editor. I don't like to shame them for a very minor infraction unless it persists. My presumption is that seeing the edit reverted is enough of a rebuke to stop the behavior in most cases. The second case is definitely SPAM or Ref SPAM, but it could be good faith spam. No need to issue a warning unless it persists. I did leave an explanation. The third case may be an edit test or may be a good faith grammar mistake. There is sufficient doubt to not warm, unless it repeats. These are articles on my watch list. If the behavior repeats, I will see it. Now some philosophy: I am a parent and I have dealt with kids. There is a spectrum of responses for correcting behavior. The silent correction is one of these responses. It causes less shame and in the case of those kids who like drama, it causes less drama. In cases of unrepeated behavior that causes minor harm, I believe a silent correction is appropriate. I will not commit to not using silent correction when I think it is in the best interest of Wikipedia. I will always reserve the right to use my best judgement. I can't easily find an explanation beyond SPAM, but I can see your POV on the others. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 15:06, 17 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to request this permission to help clear the backlog. I am a Recent Changes Patroller and thus I am actively involved in reverting vandalism. — CAPTAIN JTK (talk) 16:10, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to request access to this please, I'm an active recent-changes patroller and increasingly noticing 'pending review' changes popping up in my worklist that I'd like to help out with. This access would help especially those that need a little tweak here or there to help them on their way to being a good edit. JeffUK (talk) 20:54, 17 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
