Is there a reason why the titel is "Berchem-Sainte-Agathe - Sint-Agatha-Berchem" and not "Sint-Agatha-Berchem - Berchem-Sainte-Agathe" ? Giskart Walter 22:24 5 Jul 2003 (UTC)
- There is: please see the discussion at talk:Brussels. D.D. 22:27 5 Jul 2003 (UTC)
- Ok, bedankt. Heel toepasselijke oplossing.

Names survey, result
Between 23 December 2006 and 28 January 2007 there has been a survey about which names the articles for the municipalities in the Brussels region should have. The municipalities in question have different names in French and Dutch, the two official languages of the region. A majority of contributors to the survey prefers using one single same over using both names in the title. This single name should follow English usage, which has been determined using domain specific Google searches.
The final result of the survey is that:
- for the following municipalities the French name has been chosen, in line with the most commonly used names in English:
- for the following municipalities no significant preference in the English language has been found. After discussion, the Dutch names have been chosen:
Details about the survey can be found at Talk:Brussels-Capital Region/NamingArchive3. Markussep 18:39, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Sint-Agatha-Berchem → Berchem-Sainte-Agathe – I am starting a move request to retitle this article to its French name, and as such bring it in line with all the other municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region. Although I am a big defender of Brussels' bilingual status, as far as English Wikipedia is concerned, it seems rather odd to me (and not encyclopedic) to keep the less commonly used Dutch name, where the region's de facto majority language is French. Moreover, it appears the argument for the Dutch variant largely rests on the Brussels naming convention established back in 2007 (see Talk:Brussels-Capital Region/NamingArchive3), because no significant preference in English was found. However, in the meantime, the only other municipality previously in that case has already been renamed (see Talk:Molenbeek-Saint-Jean), leading to this article's name remaining as somewhat of an anomaly.
