Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

- To list a technical request: Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:
This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

Uncontroversial technical requests
- User:Kohli is invalid. Must create User:Kohli before requesting that it be moved to Kohli.– Page was moved without explanation. Johnj1995 (talk) 21:12, 9 October 2022 (UTC)
- Abu Hurairah (currently a redirect to Abu Hurayra) → Abu Hurayra (move · discuss) – Abu Hurayra is the common Arabic transliteration per WP:MOSAR. Abu Hurayrah is also a correct transliteration of the Arabic word per the guidelines here though it is more common on Wikipedia to drop the 'h' in similar cases, e.g., Mu'awiya I instead of Mu'awiyah I. Abu Hurayra also seems to be a more common transliteration in reliable sources, e.g., the works of Madelung. TatesTopG (talk) 8:25, 7 October 2022 (UTC)
- Noting this article has been moved before ([1]). -Kj cheetham (talk) 23:02, 7 October 2022 (UTC)

- Post Office Ltd (currently a redirect to Post Office Limited) → Post Office Limited (move · discuss) – Per its Companies House record, uses Limited, not Ltd. Kobarcreat (talk) 01:05, 9 October 2022 (UTC)
- This page was previously moved from Post Office Limited to Post Office Ltd in 2006 (log), and then from Post Office Ltd to Post Office Ltd. in 2010 (log).
- Kobarcreat, I do support the merits of this move, per the following sources (1) (2) and Wikipedia:Naming conventions (companies): "If the legal status is used to disambiguate, it should be included in the article title using the company's own preference for either the abbreviated or unabbreviated form (such as Caterpillar Inc. and Mars, Incorporated)".
- Azem (disambiguation) (currently a redirect to Azem) → Azem (move · discuss) – I've noticed that other names (like John) have no (disambiguation) in title, so I kindly ask it to be moved, since I get an error of already exisitng page.) PortieSortie (talk) 13:46, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
- I'm not convinced that the newly-created Azem (disambiguation) is useful - a hatnote to Ezem should do the trick. Azem (given name) should be moved back to its longstanding stable title Azem. 162 etc. (talk) 16:45, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
- @162 etc., I agree. The dab page is an unnecessary one and should be deleted. Hatnote is enough in this case. ─ The Aafī (talk) 17:15, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
- Alright, sorry for causing troubles. In the future I will try to do better PortieSortie (talk) 18:41, 8 October 2022 (UTC)

- Maghaweir al-Thowra (currently a redirect to Revolutionary Commando Army) → Maghawir al-Thawra (currently a redirect instead to Revolutionary Commando Army) (move · discuss) – Minor spelling change, moving to the most common spelling. Lightspecs (talk) 02:27, 6 October 2022 (UTC)
