As interface administrator and one of the most active patrollers of Serbian Wikipedia, I have gained enough trust from Wikipedia members in regards to my knowledge of Wikipedia usage for over 2 years. With that in mind, I would like to help colleagues of mine from English Wikipedia and ask if I can receive autopatrolled rights for English Wikipedia. @Боки: Are you sure you're requesting the right permission? What use would you have for autopatrolled, as you haven't created any articles here on enwiki? – Joe (talk) 10:48, 16 September 2022 (UTC)

@Joe Roe The "use" of it is more the fact that Serbian Wikipedia has definitely discovered my knowledge of Wikipedia usage and has provided me with trust regarding usage so I figured since I have done some contributions in form of edits of other articles on English Wikipedia, I strongly believe I do not need to be patrolled. That's all. I mean if I have to do something additional in order to receive that - fine but I figured since I've been around for over 2 years, I dont need to be "reviewed"

@Schwede66 I was under the impression that auto-patrolled is specifically related to the contributions (I am patroller on Serbian Wikipedia so I was just assuming).

Sounds good, I will do my best to ensure that I create few more articles in English (I already have over 700 on Serbian Wikipedia) in order to gain auto patrolled rights. Thank you for the clarification.

User:TheAafi suggested I request this [1]. I mostly rewrite existing articles (listed at my user page; diffs of selected rewrites [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] [14]), but I do create a new disambiguation page from time to time. Also recently created this (other non-dab pages currently listed here were actually not written by me). I'm mainly focused on academic and thoroughly encyclopedic topics, but if I would have the slightest doubt about the notability of a new creation I would send it to AFC. Tagging me with the autopatrolled flag might make life a bit easier for the people at NPP. ☿ Apaugasma (talk ☉) 19:06, 16 September 2022 (UTC)

I had suggested them to request this flag prior to checking out how many articles they had actually written from a scratch (which is basically very low, not close to 25). But they've worked on a number of articles and demonstrated thoroughly that they are worth it. Their work is tremendous and I feel they should be having this flag. I've editing on Wikipedia for nearly around 2 years and the best part or what I mostly love doing is checking articles with problems and fixing them (sort of patrolling).  Not done. @AKS, the autopatrolled user group is for people who create a lot of good quality articles themselves, which don't need a second pair of eyes. Another user group, the WP:new page reviewer, patrols new articles. Both permissions require quite a lot of experience. You can for build up this experience by making yourself familiar with the WP:notability guideline and for instance participating at WP:Articles for deletion.
