Rollback

Hello! My name is Topican, and I am a Wikipedia editor who has used Twinkle to revert vandalism and warn vandals. Please give me rollback permission for revert vandalism. Thank You. Topican (talk) 09:32, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I reviewed your contributions, and noticed that you never warn editors when you revert their edits. Could you please comment on that? -FASTILY 22:16, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've warned everyone but maybe I forgot to do someone, it's my fault. But if you look at my previous constructions, you will see that I have warned everyone. Although it is my fault so I apologize to you. And I hope it won't happen again in the future. Thank You Topican (talk) 05:21, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Just in your last 50 contributions, I count dozens of instances where you did not warn the editor after you reverted (e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4). Moving forward, please notify *every* editor whose edits you revert. I performed a more careful review of your contributions and discovered numerous instances where you are reverting good faith edits (e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4). To be clear, none of these edits contsitute vandalism. If you find yourself reverting good faith edits, then it's especially important to notify the editor; I recommend using tools such as Twinkle or RedWarn which make this very easy. If you don't want to leave a template warning, that's completely fine, but you do need to leave a talk page message explaining why you reverted the edit. As such, I don't think you're ready for advanced permissions yet, please spend at least a month gaining more experience before reapplying.  Not done -FASTILY 07:56, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I would love to be granted rollback rights, to better combat vandalism here on Wikipedia! I have had a few cases where rollback rights would have been very useful. Kvoou ❯❯❯ Talk 12:08, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done I noticed you created your account a little over a week ago. While I appreciate your enthusiasm, I'd like to see you spend at least a month gaining experience editing Wikipedia before assigning you advanced permissions. Thanks, FASTILY 22:27, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi FASTILY! No problem, I can understand that. I will gain some more experience before asking again! Kvoou ❯❯❯ Talk 07:25, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have been patrolling recent changes, reverting unconstructive edits, vandalism by using twinkle but many times these are in series and if I have this tool it become a bit more easier. I mostly revert such unconstructive edits by explaining the reason in edit summary. Akalanka820 (talk) 12:36, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm concerned by the recency of this edit warring incident from last week. To be clear, anybody requesting rollback should not have a history of edit warring. Perhaps you'd like to comment on that? -FASTILY 22:27, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sir, I had reverted explaining in the edit summary but I directly got the warning by uninvolved editor rather than starting the discussion on the article's talk page after the first revert. The matter is now on talk page of the article, is being discussed by various editor and it seems all are close to find some sort of interim conclusion to it. Akalanka820 (talk) 04:40, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you were to find yourself in a similar situation in the future, how would you act differently? -FASTILY 09:09, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If my edit gets reverted, I will myself open a new discussion on the talk page of the article by pinging the concerned editor, will try to explain with proper reasoning there. I will not engage into multiple reverts. Akalanka820 (talk) 09:27, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Great, thanks for confirming.  Done -FASTILY 06:36, 25 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've been working on reverting vandalism edits for a little bit now and already have a pretty significant amount of them. I try to avoid touching anything that could possibly be good faith. Owing to another discussion here, I sometimes forget to leave warnings on talkpages, most of the time it's when I revert edits from IP editors. If granted rollback rights I would certainly remember to leave warnings for all users, IP editors included. ~XyNqtc 17:54, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please make a commitment to leaving a message/warning every time you revert an edit? -FASTILY 22:27, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Fastily: For sure, I can commit to doing so - as mentioned if I was granted the rollback permission I would make sure to do so for every revert, but I can definitely start making sure to do so for every revert moving forward w/o the permission. ~XyNqtc 14:33, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Great, thanks for confirming.  Done -FASTILY 06:36, 25 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

 Not done I do not see enough recent anti-vandalism work. -- LuK3 (Talk) 18:31, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I am contributing Wikipedia for 8 months and very against of Vandalism. I always keep my eyes to ky watch list. I always revert edits which are vandalism and not according to sources. Most of the times I post warning to registered users but didn't to ip users. I have Requested block to two users who are doing vandalisms which were accepted. Thanks.  Not done I sampled your recent reverts and found numerous instances where you are reverting good faith edits (e.g. If you're still interested in this tool then please spend at least a month actively patrolling RecentChanges before reapplying. -FASTILY 06:36, 25 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
