Abdullah ibn Muhammad al-UmawiAbdallah of Córdoba – English sources generally spell the name "Abdallah" or "Abd Allah" rather than "Abdullah (example sources listed below). I have no feelings about whether the space should be present after "Abd", but I assume people are more used to the name without a space. Some other notes: We could move the page to "Abdallah ibn Muhammad", which currently redirects here, but that name is easily shared by other persons. The "al-Umawi" in the current title is simply Arabic for "the Umayyad"; rather than have a basically Arabic disambiguator, the "of Córdoba" is a more understandable English disambiguator and is also consistent with the title format of other articles about Umayyad emirs (e.g. Muhammad I of Córdoba, Hisham I of Córdoba, etc). Example sources for spelling of name:

  • Kennedy, Hugh (1996). Muslim Spain and Portugal: A Political History of al-Andalus. p. 312 (and elsewhere)
  • Bosworth, Clifford Edmund (2004). "The Spanish Umayyads" in The New Islamic Dynasties: A Chronological and Genealogical Manual.
  • Marín, Manuela (2009). "Córdoba, Caliphate of" in The Oxford Encyclopedia of the Islamic World, edited by John L. Esposito.
  • Catlos, Brian A. (2018). Kingdoms of Faith: A New History of Islamic Spain. p. 435 (and elsewhere)

  • Support - I have a preference for Abdullah (see Abdullah (name)). I would go with "Abdullah ibn Muhammad of Córdoba". Cuñado ☼ - Talk 23:49, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Indifferent between Abdullah and Abdallah. Would prefer not to have patronym in title (consistent with other Ummayad emirs/caliphs of Cordoba). I couldn't find any other Abdullah in the lists for the taifa kingdom of Cordoba, so it seems to be fairly safe without. Walrasiad (talk) 10:23, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
