Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
Appearance
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

- To list a technical request: Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:
This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Technical requests
Edit this section if you want to move a request from Uncontroversial to Contested.
Uncontroversial technical requests
- Phi Phi O'Hara (currently a redirect to Jaremi Carey) → Jaremi Carey (move · discuss) – Carey does not regularly perform in drag any more, creates content under his legal name, and is on the record as disliking being called his drag name out of drag. Jedzz (talk) 19:01, 29 January 2022 (UTC)
Administrator needed
- Edit this section if a request requires an administrator (see this guide to which moves need administrators). Place the request in another section if it only requires a page mover's permissions.
- Inter Milan → F.C. Internazionale Milano (currently a redirect back to Inter Milan) (move · discuss) – per closed RM Sceptre (talk) 18:25, 29 January 2022 (UTC)
Contested technical requests
- Bidhawal → Bidawal (currently a redirect back to Bidhawal) (move · discuss) – While there are many alternate spellings, the recommended spelling by the Victorian Aboriginal Language Corporation (Victoria's peak body for Aboriginal languages) and the Victorian state government is Bidawal - see [1]. This is also the spelling used by AIATSIS: [2] Ljgua124 (talk) 05:28, 29 January 2022 (UTC)
- The "Bidhawal" spelling appears to be more COMMON. ─ The Aafī (talk) 10:35, 29 January 2022 (UTC)
- I agree with User:TheAafi that it seems to be more common with the h. Dr. Vogel (talk) 18:58, 29 January 2022 (UTC)

- Crouching Tiger (currently a redirect to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) → Crouching Tiger (disambiguation) (move · discuss) – repoint the resulting redirect to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; the Ang Lee film is the primary topic and frequently referred to as just "Crouching Tiger"; matches the exising redirect crouching tiger -- 65.92.246.142 (talk) 15:53, 28 January 2022 (UTC)
- I'm not convinced that the primary topic here is the nickname for a film, when there's one to two entries (depending if you count Wo Hu) for which this is the correct name. I think an RM may be better; if not, an RfD is in order for the lowercase redirect. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 00:44, 29 January 2022 (UTC)
