woefully inadequate

[edit]

In a sentencing memorandum released on December 4, 2018, the Mueller investigation stated Flynn "deserves credit for accepting responsibility in a timely fashion and substantially assisting the government" and should receive little or no jail time.[136]

There is far more to the content of the memorandum than that, and it obsoletes much of the other discussion on the page of what Flynn did, which looks like a whitewash at this point. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jibal (talkcontribs)

One might consider the name of Flynn's current attorney to be important information as well; Sidney Powell

Party affiliation

[edit]

What is the source for when his party affiliation changed? I think even though he was a registered Democrat, he stated in 2016 he didn't consider himself aligned with that party, and served under a Republican administration. It's misleading to just present him as a Democrat until 2022, and what is the reference for this? Andre🚐 22:06, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Alex Jones and "the sound of the guns is freedom"

[edit]

do others agree this content should be excluded?

Media Matters reported in January 2024 that days earlier Flynn had appeared in-studio with Alex Jones to say, "I told Alex a couple of years ago when we met that I had first seen him in 2008 and 2009. I said, 'That guy's absolutely right on the money.'" Jones asserted that government-aligned groups are "going to stage false flags — unless we expose them and stop them — to blame us and trigger this. And they're going to make moves that they believe will elicit a civil war. This isn't coming. It's here. They are going to try this." Flynn responded:

I don't raise my voice that much, but when I do, it means that we are moving to — as Alex just said — we're moving towards the sound of the guns here, folks. And the sound of the guns is freedom. We are going to move towards freedom.

It's quite relevant, properly sourced, and I have restored it. It is very relevant to document that he has called for violent insurrection. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 03:11, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Pardoned felon

[edit]

Why is he listed as a pardoned felon? He was never convicted nor sentenced as the government had sought to drop the charges.

Category:Protesters in or near the January 6 United States Capitol attack

[edit]

Could be added to this category based on Jan. 6 committee holds sixth hearing. "Stone and Flynn both attended the “Stop the Steal” rally on Jan. 6 but are not charged with a crime. They both appeared before the select committee and repeatedly pleaded the Fifth Amendment." Faolin42 (talk) 23:27, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't seem to be a defining characteristic of the subject and thus not meriting categorization.SWATJester Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat! 23:46, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
